Key Role
The Project Manager plays a critical role in leading and managing key initiatives across the organization. This position is primarily responsible for driving key projects such as customer portal namely PruServices, or other high impact projects, ensuring timely and successful delivery while continuously enhancing project performance. By collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and subject matter experts, the Project Manager aligns project objectives with strategic goals, optimizes financial outcomes, and contributes significantly to the overall success of the organization’s project portfolio.


Organization Context
The Project Manager operates within the finance / PMO department of the organization, working closely with finance, product, actuarial, operation teams, project teams, executive management, and external vendors or partners. They operate in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, the roles support strategic initiatives or products, including system implementations, process establishment or process improvements, cost optimization initiatives, and operating/financial reporting enhancements. The Project Manager ensures alignment with the organization's strategic objectives, financial policies, regulatory compliance, and best practices in project management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end‑to‑end project planning and delivery, ensuring outcomes are achieved within agreed scope, timeline, budget, and quality.
  • Partner with project sponsors, business owners, cross‑functional teams, regional teams and vendors to define project objectives, deliverables, resources, and delivery plans.
  • Manage project governance, including Project Working Group and Steering Committee forums, with clear and timely reporting to senior stakeholders.
  • Coordinate project activities, resources, and dependencies in accordance with established project management methodologies and governance standards.
  • Proactively manage project risks, issues, and dependencies, implementing mitigation and contingency plans to ensure delivery success.
  • Oversee project financials, including budget tracking, cost control, and forecasting against approved funding.
  • Ensure effective stakeholder communication and support smooth system migration and transition to business‑as‑usual operations.
  • Support PMO tasks and process improvement if any


Qualification and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science/IT/Business or any related discipline
  • Minimum six (6) years working experience with minimum five (5) years industry experience in various project management, product, corporate / strategic / transformation projects, or IT related projects.
  • Proven experience (Minimum 2 years) as a Project Manager in Insurance / Financial Industry related projects, demonstrating a good understanding of Insurance or financial management principles, processes, and systems is preferred.
  • Strong overall project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects (2-3 projects depending on the sizing) simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Experience managing large to complex size projects (project value with RM2-3 million or above).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate project risks.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, with the capacity to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and present complex solution/ information to stakeholders at all levels, including executive management.
  • PMP/ Prince 2 certified is preferred.
  • Dedicated team player with good leadership skills
  • Possess strong client management experience, communication and people development skills
  • Strong hands-on experience in managing teams and project delivery
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both oral & written
