About the Opportunity:
SMEC is currently building a shortlist of experienced hydropower specialists for a confidential Expression of Interest (EOI) bid supporting Project Management Consultancy services on a large-scale hydropower dam and underground powerhouse development in Central Asia.

Due to the confidential nature of the bid process, the client's name and specific project location cannot be disclosed at this stage and will only be shared with shortlisted candidates.

We are particularly interested in professionals with strong international hydropower plant projects experience in min. 130m height or greater preferred and 500MW or above only.

Role Overview:
The Lead Grouting Engineer will provide technical leadership for dam foundation treatment and grouting works associated with the construction of a major hydropower dam.

The role will involve reviewing design submissions, supervising grouting works, and ensuring quality and performance standards during construction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the review of grouting design and construction methodologies
• Supervise curtain grouting, consolidation grouting, and foundation treatment works
• Review contractor grouting procedures, materials, and mix designs
• Monitor grouting performance, testing, and quality control
• Coordinate closely with geology, dam engineering, and construction teams
• Review contractor submissions, including method statements and inspection test plans
• Support project teams in resolving technical issues related to foundation treatment works

Experience Requirements:

• 20+ years of experience in dam and hydropower construction projects
• Experience in foundation treatment and grouting works for large dams
• Mandatory experience with dams 130m height or greater
• Mandatory Hydropower plant projects 500 MW or above
• Experience on international projects outside the home country
• Experience on projects funded by international financial institutions preferred
• Background in construction supervision, design review, or PMC roles
