St Vincent's Health Australia

Project Manager - Care Services

VIC - Melbourne, CBD & Inner Suburbs Full time

Job Description:

Better and fairer care.  Always.

St Vincent's has been a leader in Australia's health and aged care landscape for more than 165 years. Since our founders, the Sisters of Charity, opened our first hospital in 1857, our services and nearly 30,000 people have been behind some of Australia's most important medical breakthroughs. We are a microcosm of Australia’s health and aged care system and are uniquely positioned to lead and respond to our rapidly changing environment.

We are looking for a special kind of person - a St Vincent’s kind of person. Someone who puts excellence, compassion, connection and caring for other people at the heart of everything they do.

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a critical Care Services Compliance Transformation Program, on a six-month engagement with a strong focus on requirements definition, platform assessment RFP development, and vendor procurement within a complex healthcare environment.

This 6-month contract role is about front-end strategy and discovery—you will be responsible for shaping the problem, defining requirements, and driving a structured procurement process that underpins major platform decisions across aged care services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end RFP development, including requirements finalisation, evaluation criteria, and vendor engagement
  • Drive structured requirements gathering across clinical, operational, and executive stakeholders
  • Facilitate workshops to identify compliance gaps against Aged Care standards
  • Conduct market scans and platform evaluations, including vendor demos and assessments
  • Manage vendor shortlisting, proposal evaluation, and scoring frameworks
  • Develop business cases and procurement recommendations for executive decision-making
  • Build integrated project plans across discovery and procurement phases
  • Deliver high-quality executive reporting, documentation, and governance artefact

What You Will Bring:

  • 3–5+ years Project Management experience in healthcare, aged care, or regulated environments
  • Demonstrated experience leading RFP processes, vendor selection, and procurement activities
  • Strong capability in requirements gathering, gap analysis, and business process assessment
  • Experience engaging clinical, operational, and executive stakeholders
  • Ability to translate complex requirements into structured documentation and evaluation models
  • Familiarity with compliance-driven programs (aged care highly regarded)

Highly Regarded:

  • Experience with platform reviews or system replacement initiatives
  • Knowledge of Aged Care Quality Standards or regulatory frameworks
  • PRINCE2, PMP or equivalent certification

What Works For You:

  • Work on a high-impact healthcare transformation program tied to regulatory compliance
  • Ability to visibly see your impact on the business and its service
  • Competitive salary packaging options
  • Discounted private health insurance
  • Employee Assistance Program for staff and their families
  • Access to the Fitness Passport (FP)

At St Vincent’s we value inclusivity and diversity and acknowledge the importance of creating a work environment that is welcoming, safe, fair and impartial and invites people from all backgrounds to join us.
