Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector has an opening for a Project Management position to join to a diverse organization of project integrators within the Program Management Office of the International Business Area of the RQ-4 Global Hawk Program in Rancho Bernardo CA.
The candidate is responsible for overseeing and managing the operational aspects of ongoing projects and team operations. This individual contributor will work side by side with the Program Management Office on program reporting, metrics generation, proposal facilitation and special projects. This individual should possess leadership and team building capabilities and have strong interpersonal skills. Must possess solid organization abilities and be a motivated, flexible team player. Some travel may be required.
Note: this is an individual contributor role.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Lead programmatic operation and integration tasks directly supporting the Program Office in day-to-day execution
Oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serve as liaison between program management, business area functions, and integrated product teams
Review status of projects and budgets; manage schedules and prepare status reports and presentations for NGC internal and customer meetings
Assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
Develop, implement, and maintain mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.
Support proposal processes across the programs, tracking to meet deadlines and managing proposal budgets and schedules.
Capture and manage Action Items to completion and/or close
Assist facilitation of Risk and Opportunity Management across all programs.
Basic Qualifications for Project Management:
- Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of related experience as defined below, OR a Master’s degree.
- Related experience includes professional and/or military experience to include a background in: leadership, project management, program management, engineering, capture efforts, and/or business management related functions.
- Experience with MS Office applications including Excel, Word, Project, and Power Point
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in business management, Project Management or related field
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or similar
- Demonstrated ability in working with cross organizational teams and customers
- Aeronautics and/or Defense Industry experience
- Previous experience with proposal development through submittal
- Proven success managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Knowledge in leadership and project management
- Be a dynamic self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to function independently
- Strong written and verbal communication, including presentation skills
- Experience managing Government/customer supplied property or information (GFE, CFE, etc.)
- Experience working with international customers
- Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience
Primary Level Salary Range: $75,800.00 - $113,800.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
