Mission:
The Project Manager will be a key contributor of innovation projects reporting to the HO Cabin, Cargo & Connectivity Innovation. He / She will be responsible of
• Securing the internal buy-in and validation throughout the project
• Working effectively in a multi-functional project team
• Leading a sub-team within the project in particular cases
• Delivering as scheduled and within budget
• Supporting the spin-in or commercialisation of the project
In particular the Project Manager will need to manage technical progress and report & align on milestones tracking; integration on different platforms; internal alignment; negotiation of business terms with key partners and budget controlling with the direct management.
Responsibilities:
Project Managers will be required to
• Reach out to relevant parties to get first-hand info and latest technology breakthroughs to make sure projects under his/her responsibility have been connected to all the resources available in particular in China
• Turn these ideas into feasible business models, partnering with internal / external parties to ensure the project's smooth operation.
• Main Scope but not limited to: advanced materials, artificial intelligence, electronics
• Lead the project progress according to responsibility (design, technical deliverables, sourcing, partnership management, certification…)
• Collaborate with local suppliers to develop the PoC (proof of concept), ensuring all technical specifications are met and timelines are adhered to.
• Oversee the end-to-end process from prototypes design to final delivery, addressing the issues that arise to ensure on-time and high quality outcomes.
• Coordinate closely with a multi-function team (i.e. procurement, finance team) and supplier to ensure seamless communication and progress tracking.
• Analyse project’s budget condition to make sure it’s financially on track
• Support the project towards commercialization or use the project to enhance current or future Airbus’ business
Qualifications & Requirements:
Your key qualifications & requirements:
Be an expert in a field of technology for advanced & sustainable materials
Experience and knowledge about electronics & artificial intelligence is required
Demonstrate the ability to reason rigorously about technology or business models at varying levels. This is evidenced by the experience in the frame of major projects as project lead
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic technical environment requiring adaptability and collaboration with a focus on delivering measurable results.
Be an experienced project manager, including the ability to manage or work within teams, communicate effectively internally and externally, understand contracts and secure intellectual property, negotiate relationships and manage schedules and budgets, understand the importance of business driven requirements
Demonstrated track record of project execution, preferably culminating in contributing in one or more successful products
Possess a strong professional network within their domain of expertise, including leading academics, industrial players, consultants, entrepreneurs, government agencies and regulators, etc.
Impatience and burning desire to execute rapidly, along with a healthy scepticism for process
Have an innovative mindset and be a fast learner
English & Chinese language: negotiation level
