About the role
The position works closely with the Manager and Senior Project Leader to support the successful execution of projects within Member Experience and Pension Operations. The successful candidate will collaborate with Senior Project Leader and business stakeholders to deliver project outcomes. Responsibilities include preparing comprehensive project artifacts, the administration and organization of all project activities like scheduling, risk management, change management while maintaining client engagement and ensuring evolving needs are met. The Project Leader will also lead small to mid-size projects.
What you’ll do
Coordination & Communication
Leads small to mid-size projects or components of larger initiatives
Prepare and maintain project artifacts such as project plan, communication plans, risk plans, and training plans
Liaises with the business to identify and define requirements, scope, objectives and deliverables
Effectively manage project scope, resource, and timelines
Provides business and technical expertise in all aspects of project management methodologies which are aligned with PMI principles
Works with the business to analyze risk and opportunities ensuring needs are met as projects evolve
Works with business to prepare and monitor project budgets, project progress and escalate issues
Prepares presentations, project status reports and other project documents as required
Tracks and reports project status reports to stakeholders
Coordinates day-to-day project activities and follow up and assist project team members as needed to ensure project milestones are successfully met
Prioritizes tasks for project plan work packages
Develops and executes project control activities
Provides support with the corporate annual planning and budget process for identifying business development initiatives and the ongoing process throughout the year
Participate in the continuous refreshing of OPTrust’s project management methodology, as required and communicate changes to senior project leaders, project managers, and / or others as required
Change Management & Process Enhancement
Supports change adoption by preparing change management and communication plans
Provides guidance and training plan to help teams adapt to new process or systems
Track the implementation of changes and escalate issues if changes introduce delays or risks
What you bring
Work experience as a project leader or in a similar role
1-3 years work experience as a project leader or similar role
Project Management Professional (PMP)
Familiarity with risk management and quality assurance control
Experience working with Microsoft Project or similar tool is an asset
Experience in change management methodology
Post Secondary education in business or related field
CSM and/or DASM certification is a strong asset
Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively at all levels
Demonstrated analytical skills and problem-solving skills
Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management and ability to remain calm under pressure
Strong ability to work independently and or in a team environment
Ability to prepare and interpret flowcharts, schedules, and step-by-step action plans
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
