Consistent and accurate glucose monitoring is the foundation of any diabetes management plan, so we’re committed to continuous improvement in the way patients and professionals measure, track and analyze glucose levels.
As a Project Manager, you will define, plan, coordinate and integrate activities associated with upgrades/changes to existing products or new product launches worldwide. These activities include coordination of artwork and packaging, in house and third-party manufacturing, inventory phase in and phase out, procurement and all other manufacturing/operations/supply chain activities. In addition, you will document and maintain all project related plans, schedules, meeting minutes, and provide management reviews of project status and progress.
This position is an onsite opportunity in the Abbott Diabetes Care Division located in Alameda, CA.
What You’ll Work on
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to successfully launch new products and implement changes to existing products across global markets.
- Own end-to-end project coordination, from change requests through implementation, ensuring timely delivery and compliance for all configurations.
- Develop and execute launch plans that meet commercial demand while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.
- Prioritize and balance multiple programs, aligning resources, schedules, and business needs to achieve strategic objectives.
- Facilitate regular project meetings with key stakeholders across Artwork & Labeling, Quality, Regulatory, Marketing, Operations, R&D, and Commercial teams.
- Document and track progress through meeting minutes, action lists, and issue logs to maintain transparency and accountability.
- Anticipate and resolve risks proactively, collaborating with functional teams to identify solutions before they impact timelines.
- Represent the project team in review meetings, presenting strategies and updates to senior leadership.
- Ensure compliance and quality system effectiveness, adhering to corporate and divisional policies.
- Prepare and deliver impactful reports and presentations, providing clear insights and recommendations to leadership.
- Drive continuous improvement, leveraging lessons learned to optimize future project outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline.
- 8+ years of project management experience, including 4+ years leading projects in regulated industries.
- Proven ability to navigate and deliver results in large, complex organizational environments.
- Experience leading complex projects independently, demonstrating ownership from initiation through successful completion by collaborating with cross-functional teams, including regulatory affairs, manufacturing, and supply chain.
- Demonstrated success in working with global teams across multiple time zones and cultures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in commercialization of medical devices.
- Advanced degree and/or professional certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or Lean Six Sigma (LSS) are highly desirable
