Project Engineer, Low Voltage

Job Description

Evergreen Innovation Group, part of the DPR Family of Companies, is seeking a motivated Project Engineer, Low Voltage, with 2–5 years of experience supporting low voltage scopes within a commercial electrical contracting environment. This role supports the planning, coordination, and execution of low voltage systems, working closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and in accordance with quality and client requirements. 
 

This individual will be responsible for supporting project controls, engineering coordination, procurement, documentation, and cost tracking for assigned low voltage projects. The Project Engineer will assist in managing low voltage systems including structured cabling, fiber, security, fire alarm integration, AV, and BMS/controls within data center and mission-critical facilities, as well as other DPR core markets: Healthcare, Advanced Technology, Life Sciences, Higher Education, and Commercial.  

 

Project Engineers will work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and all members of the Project Team. Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to, the following: 

 

Supervisory Responsibilities 

  • No direct supervisory responsibilities. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Demonstrate understanding of and alignment with the vision and mission of EIG. 

  • Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of project scope, drawings, specifications, and low voltage system requirements. 

  • Support project planning and execution from preconstruction through closeout. 

  • Assist with cost tracking, budget updates, billings, change management, and financial reporting. 

  • Coordinate submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and document control for low voltage systems. 

  • Support material procurement, equipment tracking, and vendor coordination. 

  • Assist with schedule updates, field coordination, and work planning in collaboration with Superintendents. 

  • Participate in project meetings with owners, general contractors, designers, and trade partners as directed. 

  • Support quality control, safety initiatives, and project closeout documentation.  

Required Skills and Abilities 

We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented individual eager to grow within a commercial electrical construction environment. The successful candidate will possess: 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Ability to organize, track, and manage multiple tasks and priorities. 

  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail. 

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. 

  • Foundational understanding of low voltage building systems including structured cabling, fiber, security, fire alarm, AV, and controls. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and exposure to project management software (Prolog or similar), accounting/cost management software (CMIC or similar), and scheduling software (Primavera or similar) preferred. 

  • Willingness to learn field operations, project controls, and construction best practices. 

  • Strong work ethic with a positive, proactive mindset. 

 

Education and Experience    

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent construction experience. 

  • 2–5 years of experience supporting commercial electrical or low voltage construction projects. 

  • Experience working for an electrical contractor or low voltage integrator preferred. 

 

Physical Requirements 

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 

  • Ability to travel to and from the office and assigned job site(s) as required.
