Key position responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • To manage site Capital Engineering portfolio and act as a program lead for high complexity and critical projects

  • Ideate, gather, prioritise and execute a range of long- and short-term improvement projects with a focus on OEE impact and safe machine operation

  • Managing a portfolio of replacement and overhaul projects and programs with tight delivery timeframes and ambitious impact and reviews project-related documentation to ensure accuracy

  • Managing a portfolio of replacement, innovation, capacity, quality and overhaul projects with emphasis on OPEZ avoidance and reliability and ensuring that the project adheres to HSE regulations

  • Be first on the scene for major corrective events and complete concise RCA within 24 hours with associated short term and long-term countermeasures

  • Engineering systems, capability building and analyses and provides technical direction to project team members

  • Construction monitoring, site inspections, and working with all stakeholders (Internal and external)

  • Lead the full lifecycle of specialist projects, ensuring compliance with technical standards, budgets, and timelines.

  • Provide engineering input to optimise project scopes and develop business cases.

  • Maintain strong relationships with internal teams, contractors, vendors and all stakeholders.

  • Identify and manage project risks, issues, and opportunities, taking proactive steps to maintain performance and safety standards.

  • Preferably able to demonstrate a strong understanding of NZ construction contracts (e.g. NZS3910, NZS3916) and industry best practice.

  • Tracking progress, reporting updates and helping deliver projects on time.

About you:

  • Experience in industry/manufacturing; Experience in manufacturing environment with strong competency in a manufacturing discipline

  • Experience managing a various production & operations team members on varied projects and expenditures

  • Deep expertise in electrical and/or mechanical equipment

  • Proficient in MS Excel modelling and other MRP or ERP systems and databases

  • Tertiary level mechanical engineering or related electrical qualifications and experience; ideally with exposure to workplaces with stringent controls around hazardous materials

  • Eligibility to work in New Zealand with full working rights
