Job Description: Electrical Engineer
Position Summary
The Electrical Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and supervising the manufacturing and installation of electrical systems, equipment, and components. This role ensures that all electrical designs and operations meet industry standards, safety regulations, and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical systems, schematics, and layouts for projects or products.
- Perform calculations, simulations, and analysis to ensure system performance, reliability, and compliance with electrical codes.
- Specify electrical components such as circuit breakers, transformers, motors, wiring, and control systems.
- Create and review technical drawings, blueprints, and documentation.
- Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and diagnostics on electrical equipment and systems.
- Oversee installation, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical systems on-site when required.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as mechanical engineers, project managers, and technicians.
- Ensure all electrical work adheres to safety regulations, standards (e.g., NEC, IEC, IEEE), and company procedures.
- Prepare technical reports, proposals, and project documentation.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and recommend upgrades or improvements to existing systems.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Strong understanding of electrical theory, power systems, control systems, and circuit design.
- Proficiency with engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, MATLAB, ETAP, or similar).
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and safety codes.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
- Experience with PLC programming, automation systems, or renewable energy technologies.
- Hands-on field experience in installation or commissioning.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies.
