1. Role Summary
The BMS/ELV Engineer is responsible for the design, installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance of Building Management Systems (BMS) and Extra-Low Voltage (ELV) systems in commercial, industrial, and residential projects. The role ensures that all systems are integrated, efficient, and compliant with project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Design & Engineering
- Develop and review BMS and ELV system designs, shop drawings, schematics, and control diagrams.
- Prepare material submittals, method statements, and technical documentation.
- Conduct load calculations, device selection, and integration planning.
- Ensure compliance with international standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, IEC, ISO, etc.).
B. System Installation & Commissioning
- Supervise installation of BMS/ELV equipment including controllers, sensors, field devices, and panels.
- Configure and program BMS controllers, graphics, logic, HVAC interfaces, and communication protocols (BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, TCP/IP).
- Perform Testing & Commissioning (T&C) activities and partial/full system integration.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues and ensure optimal system functionality.
C. Project Management & Coordination
- Coordinate with MEP, HVAC, electrical, and IT teams for system interfaces.
- Manage subcontractors and vendors to ensure work quality and project timelines.
- Conduct site surveys, evaluate installation progress, and report daily/weekly updates.
- Support procurement team with technical evaluation of materials and equipment.
D. Operations, Maintenance & Support
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance for BMS and ELV systems.
- Train client/end-user teams on system operation and functionality.
- Maintain documentation, test reports, O&M manuals, and system logs.

4. Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of HVAC control logic, control panels, and field devices.
- Hands-on experience with BMS platforms (e.g., Siemens, Schneider, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Tridium Niagara).
- Familiarity with ELV systems integration and communication protocols.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings (AutoCAD, Visio, BIM/Revit preferred).
Soft Skills
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and coordination abilities.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Good documentation and reporting skills.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Mechatronics Engineering.
- 2–8+ years of experience in BMS/ELV in construction, MEP, or facility management industries.
- Certifications in BMS platforms (optional but preferred).
