Job Description Summary
The MEP QA/QC Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project requirements. The role involves inspection, testing, documentation, and coordination to maintain high-quality project delivery.
Job Description
About the Role:
1. Quality Assurance & Control
- Develop and implement QA/QC plans, ITPs (Inspection Test Plans), and method statements for MEP works.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards (IS, NBC, ASHRAE, IEC, etc.).
- Conduct regular site inspections for HVAC, electrical, firefighting, and plumbing works.
- Monitor installation works to ensure adherence to approved shop drawings and materials.
2. Inspection & Testing
- Carry out inspections and witness testing of MEP systems (e.g., pressure testing, cable testing, equipment testing).
- Prepare and submit Inspection Requests (IRs) and coordinate with consultants for approvals.
- Ensure proper testing and commissioning procedures are followed.
3. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain QA/QC records such as:
- Inspection reports
- Test reports
- Material approvals
- Calibration certificates
- Prepare Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and ensure corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Submit daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports.
4. Material & Vendor Control
- Review and approve incoming materials against specifications and approved submittals.
- Coordinate with suppliers/vendors to ensure quality compliance.
- Verify material test certificates and warranties.
5. Coordination
- Coordinate with:
- Site engineers
- Consultants
- Contractors and subcontractors
- Ensure smooth workflow and resolve quality-related issues.
- Participate in project meetings and quality audits.
6. Compliance & Standards
- Ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Implement ISO quality standards (if applicable).
About You:
- Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
- 3–8 years of experience in MEP QA/QC in construction projects.
- Knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, and firefighting systems.
- Familiarity with QA/QC procedures, codes, and standards.
- Strong knowledge of MEP systems and quality standards
- Good understanding of drawings and specifications
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and reporting skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and basic AutoCAD
