Job Description:
Parsons is seeking an experienced Project Director to lead a major freight rail infrastructure program.
Provide overall direction, leadership, and management for the full lifecycle of the project, ensuring successful delivery of all engineering, design, construction, systems integration, testing, and commissioning activities.
Ensure all technical and construction activities meet required standards, specifications, safety, operational, and performance criteria.
Lead multidisciplinary teams including civil, structural, rail systems, quality, safety, planning, and project controls functions.
Oversee project schedules, budgets, risk management frameworks, and reporting to senior stakeholders.
Maintain high levels of coordination with contractors, consultants, regulators, and internal/external stakeholders, including freight rail operators and authorities.
Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, quality management plans, safety requirements, and industry best practices.
Review and approve major technical submissions, design packages, and key deliverables.
Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and efficiency across project execution activities.
Provide executive-level communication, decision making, and issue resolution, with strong focus on operational continuity and stakeholder alignment.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Minimum 15 years of experience in civil engineering and infrastructure works, with significant exposure to rail and freight rail projects.
Experience as a Director (or equivalent senior leadership role) on at least one major infrastructure project of comparable scale and complexity.
Demonstrated ability to lead large multidisciplinary teams on major rail or transportation programs.
Strong executive-level leadership and decision-making capability.
Deep technical knowledge in civil engineering, rail infrastructure, and large-scale construction delivery.
Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder environments, including rail operators and regulators.
Expertise in project management, scheduling, cost control, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
