Job Overview
The Cancer Prevention and Control Program at the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center of Georgetown University has an opening for a Program Specialist to work on an NCI-funded smoking cessation randomized trial with individuals undergoing lung cancer screening. The Program Specialist will conduct data management and data analysis activities using the REDCap data system for this very large, longitudinal randomized trial.
Additional responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Providing tobacco treatment for the research participants
Conducting participant assessments
Providing supervision of 2 employees and 4 undergraduate students
Work Interactions
The candidate will work as part of the Lung Screening, Tobacco, and Health team, conducting the research project entitled ‘Providing Tobacco Treatment to Patients Undergoing Lung Cancer Screening at MedStar Health: A Randomized Trial.’ The person in this position will report directly to Dr. Taylor (principal investigator) and Dr. Randi Williams (co-investigator). The candidate will oversee all aspects of running this research project, from supervising others on the team to participant recruitment and intervention, to high level data management.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in psychology, public health, or another social science is required
Must have already undergone a training program for tobacco treatment specialists or if not, will be provided with that training as part of this position.
Must have prior experience working on behavioral research or clinical projects
Must have data management and data analysis experience
Must have prior work on tobacco-related behavioral research

Pay Range:
The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:
$21.16 - $35.29Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
