About The Position:

The Program Specialist, Energy Efficiency is part of the Ameren Illinois Clean Energy Transition Department's Business Operations team and is responsible for the oversight of the business operations components of Ameren Illinois and contractor-implemented Energy Efficiency and Demand Response programs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitor the performance of contractors responsible for the implementation and operation of Energy Efficiency.

  • Oversee the coordination of selecting, onboarding, and contracting with external resources (subcontractors and vendors) committed to successful program execution.

  • Collaborate extensively with internal stakeholders involved in approving and overseeing external vendors.

  • Maintain an appropriate positive and mutually beneficial business relationship with business, professional groups, and industry allies in support of Ameren Illinois’ Energy Efficiency objectives.

  • Assist in the development and execution of business processes and strategies to increase Energy Efficiency participation among Ameren Illinois customers.

  • Drive cost efficiency with external vendors through coordinating Requests for Proposals, direct negotiations, and market research.

  • Track program metrics.  Prepare status reports to accurately monitor progress against program objectives, timelines, budgets and goals.

  • Stay current with ongoing trends in energy efficiency and demand response.

  • Occasional day trips within Ameren Illinois' territory and occasional overnight travel are required.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree for an accredited college or university required. MBA, other related graduate degree, or Juris Doctorate preferred. Three or more years of relevant experience required (e.g., contract compliance, marketing, accounting, technology, data reporting, engineering).  Experience in contract development and management activities including supplier negotiations, statement of work drafting, vendor compensation models and invoicing, and contract administration is strongly preferred. May waive degree requirement for candidates with seven or more years of directly relevant experience.

Compensation Range:

$71,100.00 - $110,200.00

At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
