JOB SUMMARY:  Program Manager - Process Improvement

Job Level: Grade 10

Scope of Work – Main duties, settings, geography, reporting relationships, other relationships:

Responsible for analyzing, redesigning, and optimizing business processes to enhance efficiency, safety, and quality across operations. This role focuses on driving continuous improvement initiatives, standardizing workflows, and embedding a culture of operational excellence.

This position reports to the Manager of Process Improvement & Standardization, part of Process & Systems group within Process and Technology (P&T) business area.

MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Scope of work - range of responsibilities):

Process Analysis & Optimization
Evaluate current workflows, identify inefficiencies, and propose redesigns to improve productivity, cost, safety, and quality. Standardization & Best Practices
Develop and implement standardized procedures across operations, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and safety standards. Continuous Improvement Initiatives
Lead Lean Six Sigma projects, define KPIs, and establish governance models for ongoing process improvement. Change Management & Training
Drive cultural change, manage stakeholder engagement, and deliver training programs to ensure adoption of new processes. Innovation & Automation
Identify opportunities for automation and digitalization, execute POCs/MVPs, and validate solutions before scaling. Risk & Compliance Management
Conduct risk assessments and ensure all processes meet regulatory and safety requirements. Performance Monitoring
Implement quality assurance systems and monitor ROI for process improvement initiatives.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial, Systems, or Electrical Engineering, Operations Management, or a related technical field, or an associate degree with 8 years of relevant experience required.
  • A minimum of 2 year of program/project/process management experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Power Point).
  • General knowledge and experience of Product Management/Process & Systems.

Relevant Experience

  • 3+ years leading process improvement, operational excellence, or digital transformation initiatives in energy, utilities, or industrial sectors.
  • Proven expertise in workflow analysis and redesign using Lean, Six Sigma, or DMAIC methodologies.
  • Experience conducting user experience (interviews, usability testing, journey mapping) to ensure process changes improve user experience.
  • Ability to identify and prioritize opportunities for efficiency, automation, and UX enhancement aligned with business objectives.
  • Strong capability in executing POCs/MVPs and validating new process designs before large-scale rollout.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams (Operations, Product, IT, UX, and Field teams) to implement sustainable process changes.
  • Familiarity with process mapping tools, KPI definition, and continuous improvement governance models.
  • Solid understanding of energy operations (generation, distribution, maintenance) and enterprise systems (e.g., SAP, GIS).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with a strong focus on user-centered design.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, SAFe) to support iterative process improvement, cross-functional collaboration, and adaptive planning.

Preferences:

  • Postgraduate studies or certifications in Lean Six Sigma (Black Belt), Process Excellence, or Operational Excellence.
  • Knowledge of Agile, Design Thinking, UX, Product Research, and Change Management frameworks is an asset.
