A Glimpse of the Job
The Program Manager plays a central role in shaping the student experience from first contact through enrollment, serving as the primary steward of recruitment, admission, and onboarding for both the In‑Person and Flex Online M.S. Accounting programs. This role will manage the full recruitment cycle, including outreach, graduate school fairs, interviews, evaluations, and prospective‑student communication. The role prepares clear, data‑driven reports for internal and external stakeholders to support strategic decision‑making. With graduate enrollment growth as a college priority, the Program Manager develops and executes targeted strategies to strengthen the applicant pipeline and increase enrollment in the accounting master’s programs. This position also supports a seamless onboarding experience to ensure newly admitted students feel welcomed and prepared. As the program expands and graduates additional cohorts, the Program Manager maintains meaningful engagement with Former Students to foster a strong and connected alumni community. This role is central to advancing the visibility, impact, and long‑term success of the M.S. Accounting programs.
Opportunities to Contribute
Recruiting, Admissions and Initial Advising - Leads responsibility for MS ACCT programs recruiting and admissions. Plans and executes student recruiting activities. Conducts periodic outreach activities including but not limited to, email and calling campaigns, and information sessions and marketing efforts. Collaborates with the Mays Communications (MARCOMM) group to develop promotional materials and campaigns. Recommends, coordinates, and maintains the stock of promotional materials to be used in recruiting. Updates and maintains databases of prospective students. Tracks, evaluates, and reports relevant recruitment statistics. Coordinates the multi-faceted administrative side of admissions for the ACCT graduate programs with program manager/coordinators. This includes processing applications, sending application files to the review committee, updating applicant status in the system, and compiling applicant data for Program Director and admissions committee review. Communicates with program applicants including the notification of admission decisions and items to be completed prior to orientation. Assists in developing strategic plans and goals for the MS ACCT programs in alignment with the Mays Business School vision. Identifies educational gaps for applicants and works with them to remedy those issues depending on degree modality they select. Educates applicants about M.S. degree requirements, CPA eligibility and how these requirements both overlap and diverge. Provides guidance to applicants about how the program helps them meet professional goals. Shares proposed course schedules and degree programs with applicants and newly accepted students.
Event Management - Works with others in the department to plan and assist with in-person events for current and former students, potential applicants, faculty, and other external guests. Supports new student orientation, scholarship, and networking events for M.S. students, as needed.
Operations - Works with others in the department to address student issues. Oversees student workers in completion of tasks such as answering online email account and resolving prospective student emails. Serves as back-up for others in department on administrative responsibilities, as necessary.
Former Student Engagement - Maintains a database of our Former Students with MS Accounting degree. Maintains relationships with these stakeholders through engagement such as newsletters, networking events, and inviting them to engage with current students.
Marketing, Communications, and Reporting - Monitor marketing expenditures and ensure adherence to budgetary constraints for marketing and recruiting. Prepares communications for potential applicants, applicants, and newly admitted students to keep them engaged and informed. Prepare reports for use by the department, Deans Office, MarComm, Career Management Center and other stakeholders as appropriate.
What You Need to Know
Salary: $65,000 - $72,000/annually (Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire’s experience.)

This position requires travel.
This position will require work outside of standard business hours to include nights and weekends.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, MBA, Economics, Technical Communications or related field.
Five years of program management experience, recruiting, education admissions, higher education administration, instructional, or closely related experience.
A Well-Qualified Candidate Will Also Possess:
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
A&M experience (student or professional experience).
2 years’ experience of academic recruiting in higher education, education admissions, or corporate recruiting.
Experience with WebAdmit; Qualtrics; Compass and/or similar program.
Experience with LMS, Canvas or similar LMS.
Experience with one or more CRMs.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Working knowledge of office software Microsoft Office (highly skilled with Excel).
Ability to respond to inquiries quickly and effectively.
Skill to learn and use different university-used software systems including implementing AI to automate processes when appropriate
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students and applicants.
Skill in understanding academic curricula and CPA requirements and advising students appropriately.
Ability to learn new technologies and adapt to change.
