Major Duties:
Qualifications: In order to be rated as qualified for this position, we must be able to determine that you meet the qualification requirements - please be sure to include this information in your resume. You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 level performing the following duties: (1) Directly supervise staff to ensure land and natural resource management programs under their direct control operate smoothly. Supervising staff includes: workforce planning, personnel management, performance management, EEO compliance, and employee training and development; (2) Analyze and evaluate workload capabilities against needs to create a balanced and robust set of land and natural resource programs; (3) Oversee land and natural resource program planning and budgeting systems to ensure resources and work plans accomplish day-to-day work; (4) Identify and analyze emerging land and natural resource topics, recognize sensitive or controversial issues in their initial stages, and bring about viable solutions for resolution; and (5) Communicate orally and in writing to develop and deliver presentations, briefing packages, or similar presentation materials, requiring extensive analytical input. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade requirement in accordance with 5 CFR 300.604. If you are a current Federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must have completed a minimum of 52 weeks at the next lower grade level. Physical Demands: Work is performed in an office setting with no special physical demands. However, the work may involve site visits which involve driving to and moving about work sites.
