Job Description

Job Description and Responsibilities:

  • The pasteurization Technician performs functions necessary to assist the milk bank in providing safe, efficient, and cost-effective donor human milk services
  • Utilizes requisite equipment, aseptic technique, donor milk processing supplies, and computer systems as appropriate for the procurement, receipt, preparation/milk processing and/or dispensation of donor human milk
  • Performs other duties as assigned

More Detailed Job Description:

  • Preparing donor milk for pasteurization including pouring and bottling
  • Conducting the pasteurization process
  • Documenting and packing milk samples for testing
  • Cleaning and preparing lab and related equipment for pasteurization
  • Performing routine maintenance of lab equipment
  • Data entry
  • Stocking of supplies at the start and end of each day
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and sanitary work area
  • Work independently and as part of a team
  • Assist with inventory management and freezer organization system
  • Scheduling couriers to pick up orders

Additional Job Description

Education & Experience: A Bachelor's degree and one year work experience; or high school diploma (or equivalent) and 2 to 4 years work experience.
