Aalto University Summer School caters to international students, working professionals and lifewide learners who want to combine a short course at Aalto University with a Finnish experience. The Summer School is a part of Aalto University’s Lifewide Learning services.
We are looking for a student to work as a
Program Assistant
to join the team during spring 2026. In this position, you will work in an international academic environment with our enthusiastic team of higher education development specialists.
As a Program Assistant, you assist us in hosting visiting student groups at Aalto and help them make the most of their stay in Finland. The role is well-suited for someone who enjoys hands-on tasks and variety in their workdays, works effectively in a team and feels comfortable in front of a group. You are often the first point of contact for our students, whether online or on campus, and we appreciate fluent communication skills, a friendly can-do attitude and taking ownership of the participants’ experience.
Other tasks include helping the team during the application period for the Summer School courses, including email customer service, application screening and possible communication-related tasks.
The position is part-time with a 60% average work time. During weeks when we are hosting clients, some additional hours may be needed (up to 80% work time), which will be balanced during less busy periods. The position is fixed-term between 19.1.-31.3.2026, and there is a possibility of continuing into a summer job. You will work at the Otaniemi campus. The majority of the work tasks require being on-site, with the possibility for more remote work between 16.2.-13.3.2026, when we don’t have visiting customers. The salary is around 1350€ / month for the part-time position (requirement level MV05 in the universities’ collective agreement).
Key tasks include
Customer service and supporting incoming students, both online and in person
Participating in event hosting for visiting student groups, helping with event coordination
Creating and updating informational materials related to the summer school, Aalto University and staying in Finland
Assisting in administrative tasks related to the summer school application period and student admissions
What we value

Willingness to represent Aalto University and Finland to an international audience
Fluent written and oral communication skills in English
Communication skills in Chinese are considered an asset
