Job Summary
The Professional Services Lead – Merchant Solutions is responsible for leading the design, delivery, and implementation support of complex merchant solutions. The role plays a critical hands‑on role in supporting bespoke, technically complex merchant requirements, acting as the primary bridge between merchant clients, sales, product, technology, and operations.Job Description
Lead the end‑to‑end delivery of complex merchant solutions, from pre‑sales support through implementation and stabilisation.
Translate merchant business and operational requirements into practical technical and delivery plans.
Design tailored solutions incorporating:
Omnichannel payment solutions
POS, e‑commerce, and gateway integrations
API‑based and platform‑driven implementations
ERP, billing, and third‑party system integrations
Balance bespoke merchant needs with platform scalability and standardisation.
Support commercial, growth, and relationship teams on complex merchant opportunities.
Participate in merchant solution sessions, workshops, and technical discussions.
Scope solutions, define delivery approaches, estimate effort, and identify implementation risks. Contribute to proposals, solution descriptions, and technical responses for large or complex deals.
Act as the primary professional services contact for assigned complex merchants.
Build strong working relationships with merchant technical, operational, and commercial stakeholders.
Manage expectations across scope, timelines, dependencies, and delivery outcomes.
Proactively identify and mitigate delivery, integration, or operational risks.
Coordinate closely with Product, Engineering, Payments Operations, Risk, Compliance, and Legal teams to deliver merchant solutions.
Ensure merchant requirements are clearly documented, communicated, and prioritised internally.
Drive timely resolution of complex technical, integration, or operational issues.
Own delivery governance for assigned professional services engagements.
Ensure solutions adhere to security, compliance, regulatory, and operational standards.
Oversee testing, user acceptance, and go‑live readiness for complex implementations.
Maintain clear documentation of solution designs and delivery decisions.
Provide post‑implementation support to ensure solution stability and merchant adoption.
Identify optimisation opportunities or expansion opportunities based on merchant usage and needs.
Feed recurring merchant requirements and insights back into Product and Platform teams.
Experience Required
6–10+ years in professional services, solution delivery, implementation, or technical consulting roles
Proven experience supporting complex merchant or enterprise clients
Strong exposure to payments, fintech, transaction banking, or platform‑based solutions
Experience supporting pre‑sales and complex deal structuring
Exposure to regulated environments such as banking or payments
Education
