Japan, Semine Full time

Do you have the drive to impact on our business while interacting with passionate people in a global setting? At Sandvik Coromant, we’re looking for an experienced, confident and inspiring leader to join us as Production Unit Director in Semine, Japan.

We’re proud to offer you an exciting workplace where innovation, collaboration, and flexibility really matter!

Shortly about us

Your mission

In this position, you lead and develop our Production Unit with the ambition to establish a world-class manufacturing site. You ensure alignment with corporate strategies and operational plans, while driving production performance and achieving financial targets. By fostering a culture of competence, motivation, and continuous improvement, you create the conditions needed for efficient manufacturing. Your leadership ensures full compliance with local laws, industry standards, relevant ISO certifications, and EHS requirements.

With a clear focus on the future, you continuously improve organizational capabilities and identify synergies across key areas, such as production efficiency, digitalization, and sustainability. Naturally, lean production principles are embedded in your approach.

The location for this position is Semine, Japan where you’re a present leader. You’re a valued member of the Global Insert Management team and report directly to the Global Director for Sandvik Coromant Insert Production.  Occasional travel is part of your job.

Your profile

We’re seeking a people-first leader who thrives in a production environment and knows how to bring teams together around a shared mission. You have a proven track record of leading production teams in industrial settings, and you understand how to drive performance through clarity, engagement, and trust. You know how to translate strategy into action, and you make sure your team understands not just what, but the why. Your financial acumen is solid, and you use it to make smart, sustainable decisions. Acting locally in a global organization calls for excellent skills in both Japanese and English, verbally and in writing.

What truly sets you apart is your ability to connect with people – to listen, to explain, and to energize. You’re a communicative leader who builds bridges across functions, cultures, and perspectives.

We welcome candidates from Japan and abroad. If you’re an expat with global experience and a deep respect and experience of Japanese culture, we’re ready to support your relocation. Ideally, you’re someone with Japanese roots and international experience, ready to return and make a lasting impact. What matters most is your openness to cultural differences, your adaptability, and your commitment to building a strong, inclusive team.
