Job Summary: You will serve as a Project Manager in the Waterfront Operations/Productions Division ofNAVAL SHIP REPAIR FACILITY . ***ACCESS TO MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE IN JAPAN IS EXTREMELY LIMITED. Please see Additional Information section below.***

Major Duties:

  • You will be responsible for the effective and efficient management of complex Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) scheduled availabilities, continuous maintenance and emergent work.
  • You will serve as the principal advance-planning manager for activities executing work assigned for U.S. Naval Ship Repair Facility and Japan Regional Maintenance Center (SRF-JRMC).
  • You will be responsible for the planning phase of all repair, alteration and modernization work assigned to SRF-JRMC on Landing Helicopter Dock (LHD) ships during availabilities and participate as a core member of a ship's maintenance team.
  • You will coordinate, schedule, and assure administration of SRF-JRMC repair and modernization work on projects.
  • You will be responsible for the coordination and direction of all aspects of an assigned CNO availability.
  • You will coordinate, oversee, and direct the contractor and other Government agencies during the advanced planning functions for Extended Selected Restricted Availabilities, Continuous Maintenance, and Emergent Maintenance work.
  • You will provide input for funding requirements and serve as the maintenance team's funds manager for funds from all sources.
  • You will determine the course of action necessary to accomplish assigned projects with the overall view of creating new standards and objectives to be met on similar projects within the requirements of the overall mission.

Qualifications: For the GS-13 Grade Level: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the new lower grade level (GS12) or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector serving as project officer overseeing the evaluation, effectiveness and efficiency of major ship overhaul and repair operations. For the GS-12 Grade Level: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector planning and executing all phases of repair, alteration and modernization for ship's maintenance team.
