Job Title
Production Operator III
Responsible for performing multiple processes relating to the manufacture of technical ceramics and/or metals following work order specifications. Works within a team environment to meet departmental goals. Maintains work area cleanliness.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Operate multiple, complex production equipment and/or a variety of machines to manufacture ceramic parts in compliance with work order instructions.
- Run and cross-train on different types of machines, including surface grinders, MTIs, and CNC mills.
- Perform basic machinist tasks such as tooling and offset changes (training provided; CNC programming not required).
- Inspect parts to ensure they meet quality/customer specifications; take appropriate action on non-conforming parts and recommend solutions.
- Transfer parts to the next process via computer software.
- Load, unload, and stack product; transport product via hand-truck, forklift, crane, or hoist.
- Clean work area, machines, tools, and equipment.
- Train incoming operators on processes and procedures.
- Wear required personal protective equipment at all times in designated areas.
Job Requirements:
Shift:
- Swing Shift: Monday - Thursday: 3:30pm - 1:30am MST
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, but not necessary
Experience:
- Minimum of 1-year applicable manufacturing experience.
- Prior machine operator experience required; prior machinist experience ideal.
- Experience in a machine shop/manufacturing environment preferred.
- Familiarity with mills; lathe experience is a plus.
Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to understand and act on verbal and/or written instructions.
- Read/interpret standard and metric measurements.
- Intermediate math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Experience with handheld measuring devices (e.g., drop gauges, micrometers) and hand tools.
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing to interpret blueprints and part relationships.
- Organized and detail-oriented with a proven track record of accountability.
- Ability to follow processes/work instructions while identifying opportunities for efficiency and quality improvements.
- Good attitude and strong teamwork skills.
- Bonus: Familiarity with LEAN standards and practices.
Target Hiring Range
Hourly: USD 20.78 - USD 25.16
