This is a 6-Month Temporary Role (Parental Leave Coverage)
As a Product Support Technician at Atotech Canada Ltd., a subsidiary of MKS Instruments, Inc., you will be responsible for supporting plating operations on the CRC pilot line, maintaining the wastewater treatment system, and performing corrosion and materials testing. This includes conducting hardness testing, microscopy, thickness measurements, and cross-section preparation. In this role, you will report to the Laboratory Manager.
You Will Make an Impact By
Perform plating requests on the CRC pilot line
Operate, calibrate, and perform routine maintenance on pilot line equipment and associated systems
Maintain and monitor the wastewater treatment system
Conduct corrosion and materials testing, including hardness testing, microscopy, thickness measurements, and cross-section preparation
Provide technical information and test results to field representatives and customers
Follow safe laboratory practices, maintain good housekeeping, and adhere to all chemical handling procedures
Manage hazardous waste in accordance with company policies and government regulations, including waste minimization efforts
Troubleshoot electro-mechanical equipment or software issues and recommend corrective actions
Document customer data and recurring technical issues to support product quality programs and product development
Support customer-focused activities through strong interpersonal skills and technical expertise
Skills You Bring
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
Ability to sit, stand, or perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and occasionally assist with moving items exceeding 100 lbs
Frequent use of manual dexterity and coordination, including work below, at, and above shoulder level
Ability to remain in a stationary position for up to 20% of the time
Strong ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
Regular use of computers and standard office/laboratory equipment
Ability to observe fine details at close range
Commitment to safety when working with mechanical and electrical systems, high voltage, gases, water, and heat
Work environment noise level is typically moderate
Compensation
$55,000 CAD annually. This range reflects a reasonable expectation of pay for this position based on qualifications, experience, education, training, operational needs, and other factors.
