Come Drive Innovation with Us. We are currently looking for a Product Specialist 1 to join our team in Franklin, TN. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to support the creation of competitive product proposals that satisfy the needs of our customers, market, and corporate objectives. The C-SUV Product Planning team is responsible for realizing future C-Segment SUV vehicle concepts into reality – securing product competitiveness and meeting the mobility needs of our customers. This position plays a critical role as a key liaison between the global NML planning office and the region MC-NA to drive vehicles into existence that build brand value and achieve enduring profitable growth. We are looking for someone to join the team who is driven, curious, and loves the challenge of solving complex problems.

A Day in the Life:   

The responsibilities listed are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties for this role. Additional tasks may be assigned, as needed, to support business objectives.

Job responsibilities include understanding customer, market and competitor actions in order to propose a product plan that helps Nissan attract and retain customers, while driving volume, profit and improving brand opinion. As needed, initiate changes to plans and strategies to ensure appropriateness, given changes in the market environment and /or corporate objectives. This position will report directly to a Manager within the team.

  • Support building vehicle plan, from initial concept to launch, and proposing after launch lifecycle plan where applicable
  • Work with RPM and CPS team to plan target performance levels for new vehicle programs. Work to build consensus for proposed target performance level within engineering and marketing groups.
  • Support managing in-market vehicle performance and propose short-term ideas to improve competitiveness, increase vehicles’ profit or reduce cost (Profit Optimization and Right Sizing)
  • Communicate product strategy and specifications to various departments in the company
  • Support grade strategy and establishing specifications for planned and existing Nissan/Infiniti vehicle programs. Create specification chart application for engineering and manufacturing, as well as factory model codes and determines build combinations
  • Determine and establish transaction prices for all grade/trim levels including options, for previous model years to forecast future price and value trends
  • Create and maintain the Product Information Guide (PIG) for assigned model lines and markets.  Understand and accurately reflect the specifications and strategies for grades and options in the PIG.
  • Champion for vehicle program; explain concept and defend product strategy that drives volume, profit and brand opinion improvement.
  • Present product plans to Senior Manager and Senior Executives in order to gain concurrence to proceed.
  • Weekly communication and negotiation with NML and affiliates as needed to ensure clear understanding and speedy identification and closure of issues.
  • Represent Product Planning in meetings with other departments such as Marketing, Pricing, Vehicle Operations, PR, Program Management, Training, Accessory Planning, Engineering, etc.

Who We’re Looking for:

Required:

  • 0-1 years of experience
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of and passion for the automotive industry, our products, competitive products, and our customers
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data
  • Bachelors Degree in related area
  • Up to 25%. Day and overnight travel, including periodic evening and weekend travel and periodic extended trips, both domestically and internationally
  • Ability to perform work onsite at NNA HQ Franklin, TN.

  • Ability to analize and draw insights from data, proficient in tools such as Mtab, PIN, Polk, and MS Office.
  • Ability to create clear/concise slides and present material proficiently

  • Knowledge of Nissan’s internal processes, especially in Product Planning, PMO, CMM
