Lead, Site Merchandising

Job Summary

The Lead of Site Merchandising is a strategic, creative, and analytical leader responsible for improving the digital shopping experience.  Key responsibilities include leading the strategy, execution, and performance of the iHerb.com digital storefront. This role owns how products are presented, promoted, and discovered across the site and app to maximize conversion, revenue, and customer engagement.

The Lead will be responsible for category merchandising, promotional presentation, homepage and campaign execution, and onsite optimization. This role partners closely with marketing, analytics, product, UX, and supply chain teams to ensure the right products are surfaced to the right customers at the right time.

Key Responsibilities

Performance Optimization

  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering to define requirements for product metadata as we onboard a new PIM tool, including enhanced images, videos, translations and key attributes by category.
  • Work with Product and Engineering to refine the algorithms and key drivers impacting product display rankings.  
  • Work with Product and Engineering to build and refine merchandising tools, personalization, and search improvements.
  • Work closely with data science and BI to define, create and own the key metrics used to determine strategies and actions.
  • Work closely with regional teams to adjust the global strategy for regional needs and create local stores as needed.
  • Partner with Marketing to ensure alignment across our retail ad services.
  • Partner with Supply Chain and Inventory teams to ensure product availability aligns with merchandising plans.
  • Coordinate with Merchandising to support strategic brand placements and promotions.
  • Partner with Finance, Pricing, Marketing, Merchandising and Operations teams to align on financial goals.

Site Merchandising Strategy

  • Develop and execute the overall site merchandising strategy for iHerb.com globally across all platforms and regional
  • Improve onsite product discovery, category presentation, and promotional placement to drive conversion and revenue growth.

Category & Promotional Execution

  • Lead onsite campaign execution including seasonal events, product launches, and promotional activations.
  • Collaborate with marketing to align onsite merchandising with paid media, email, and lifecycle campaigns.

Performance Optimization

  • Build reporting with BI teams to assess and optimize key site performance metrics including conversion rate, AOV, revenue per visitor, and category growth.
  • Use data and experimentation (A/B testing, personalization, and behavioral insights) to continuously improve site performance.
  • Partner with analytics teams to develop dashboards and reporting for merchandising performance.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience managing digital storefronts for high-traffic ecommerce platforms.
  • Deep understanding of ecommerce KPIs including conversion,add-to-cart,  AOV, and revenue per visitor.
  • Experience building the foundations of a site merchandising function including tools, reporting and processes - with particular focus on product metadata.
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience using data to drive merchandising decisions.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with marketing, product, UX, and engineering teams.
  • Proven ability to translate data into clear recommendations and influence cross-functional partners
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and imperfect data in a fast-moving environment
  • Experience in health, wellness, supplements, or consumer packaged goods ecommerce.
  • Familiarity with merchandising tools, search platforms, and personalization engines.

Equipment Knowledge:

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with Google Business Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms) preferred

Experience Requirements:

  • 8 - 12+ years of ecommerce merchandising experience.
  • 4+ years site merchandising or ecommerce merchandising experience

Education Requirements: 

Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field (MBA or Masters a plus, not required)

The anticipated pay scale for this position can be found below, however the pay range applicable to you may vary by geographic location based on where the job is located or where you work.  The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry, education, etc.  iHerb, LLC is a multi-state employer and this pay scale may not reflect positions that work in other states or locations.

Hired applicant may be awarded Restrict Stock Units and receive annual bonuses pursuant to eligibility and performance criteria defined in the respective plan documents and policies.
