Product Owner, EDO Governance & Tooling

As a Product Owner for S&P Global's EDO Governance & Tooling team, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering our enterprise knowledge graph. You will be responsible for defining the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for this innovative solution, which is designed to connect the firm's vast data assets and revolutionize how data is discovered, governed, and utilized.

The ideal candidate has a keen understanding of how semantic technologies and graph data models can solve complex business problems. As a key liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders, you will translate user needs into a prioritized product backlog, driving the agile development process to deliver a powerful and intuitive knowledge graph platform.

Key responsibilities include engaging with stakeholders to gather requirements for Knowledge Graph. You will ensure that the development of the knowledge graph aligns with the overall strategic goals of S&P Global’s Enterprise Data Organization (EDO).

This role requires a unique blend of product management expertise, strong communication skills, and technical knowledge in the domain of semantic technologies, making it essential for driving the success of this critical EDO initiative.

As a member of the Product team, you will steer the Agile development process for a cutting-edge platform, overseeing a complex project from inception to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Requirements and Roadmap – Understand, Analyze, Document and Sign-off Business, Functional and Non-Functional Requirements for the enterprise knowledge graph.

  • Communicate a clear product strategy, roadmap and set of features that convey the product vision.

  • Participate / lead in project sizing, planning and tracking activities.

  • Contribute and articulate the vision and strategy to obtain approval from key stakeholders including senior management, product management, development, and operations.

  • Business and Tech Liaison – Understand business problems/needs and communicate them to Technology; understand technology solutions against business needs and present them back to the Business.

  • Produce detailed business and functional feature definitions from existing systems, previous drafts, and SME interviews.

  • Partner with stakeholders, understanding their business objectives and priority requirements; facilitate sign-off across stakeholder groups.

  • Demonstrate the ability to use a broad range of business analysis skills, methodologies and techniques including Gap Analysis, Feasibility studies, and Use case modelling.

  • Work with Development and Testing teams during testing cycles to ensure implementation meets requirements.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Expertise in agile methodologies.

  • Experience as a Product Owner or similar role, preferably with a focus on data platforms, data modeling, or semantic technologies.

  • Strong understanding of knowledge graphs, ontologies (e.g., RDF, OWL), and semantic data modeling.

  • Familiarity with graph query languages, such as SPARQL, is highly desirable.

  • Proven ability to lead and manage project teams across diverse geographies, juggling multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.

  • Clear communication and interpersonal skills, with a track record of influencing cross-functional teams and delivering results without formal authority.

  • A collaborative mindset, thriving in cross-functional teams that value innovation, productivity, and quality.
