Job Details

The Product Owner will lead one dedicated scrum team responsible for delivering platform enhancements driven by customer needs across all verticals InvoiceCloud supports. The team’s work spans core capabilities—including account management, data synchronization, and consumer payment experiences—and is often shaped by new customer onboarding requirements that demand rapid prototyping, iteration, and delivery on compressed timelines.

The PO will own the team backlog, drive iterative execution, and closely monitor product performance to ensure shipped work delivers measurable customer and business value, while partnering with the Product Manager to maintain alignment with broader product strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Backlog Ownership & Prioritization

  • Maintain a clear, outcome-aligned backlog for the scrum team, ensuring each item is well-defined, technically feasible, and tied to a specific customer or business problem.
  • Translate customer needs, stakeholder input, and data insights into user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Keep at least three sprints of groomed, prioritized work consistently prepared so the team can plan ahead without interruption.
  • Make day-to-day decisions that unblock engineering and maintain delivery velocity.
  • Balance competing priorities across verticals and customer engagements, adjusting the backlog as new commitments emerge.
  • Ensure the team understands the “why” behind priorities and how work contributes to platform quality and customer outcomes.

Execution & Delivery

  • Lead sprint planning, backlog refinement, and sprint reviews with precision and preparation.
  • Ensure shipped features meet acceptance criteria, quality standards, and intended use cases.
  • Partner with engineering and UX to deliver incremental improvements rather than large, risky releases.
  • Manage delivery against tight, customer-driven timelines without sacrificing quality or accumulating unnecessary technical debt.

Experimentation & Analytics

  • Monitor released features, track key performance indicators, and drive corrective actions when results fall short.
  • Use product analytics, behavioral data, and qualitative input to understand how customers and payers interact with the platform.

Customer & Workflow Understanding

  • Develop broad understanding of workflows and pain points across the verticals InvoiceCloud serves—including utility, government, tax, and insurance.
  • Represent customer needs during product discussions and decision-making.
  • Participate in customer interviews, usability sessions, and frontline team conversations to stay grounded in real-world experience.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with business stakeholders, engineering, design, data, and support teams to ensure alignment and smooth execution.
  • Partner with the Product Manager to keep the roadmap, vision, and team-level priorities tightly connected.
  • Coordinate with other product owners when platform work intersects vertical-specific domains.
  • Collaborate with operations and enablement teams to support adoption and rollout of new platform capabilities.

Requirements

Education

  • BA/BS degree required; technical, business, or quantitative fields preferred.

Experience

  • 2–5 years as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or related product role in a SaaS environment.
  • Hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum teams; CSPO or similar certification preferred.
  • Experience working in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities and customer-driven deadlines is a plus.

Skills

  • Strong backlog management and sprint execution skills; deeply familiar with Agile/Scrum team operation.
  • Proven ability to articulate customer problems, define user stories, and translate requirements into actionable work.
  • Comfortable context-switching across problem domains and ramping quickly on unfamiliar areas of the platform.
  • Thrives under deadline pressure; able to scope work pragmatically and deliver iteratively when timelines are tight.
  • Analytical thinker who uses data to justify priorities and evaluate the impact of shipped features.
  • Clear communicator with the discipline to document decisions, acceptance criteria, and changes precisely.
  • Technical curiosity and the ability to understand system behavior, constraints, and trade-offs without needing to code.
  • Strong attention to detail and a habit of ensuring features meet expected outcomes—not just delivery dates.
