The Role:

A Product Marketing Manager (PMM) at Sauce Labs is responsible for the positioning, messaging, and overall go-to-market strategy for our products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, sales, and customer success, to develop compelling product value propositions and ensure the product meets the market demand. The PMM will also work closely with the marketing team to drive product awareness, engagement, and adoption, ensuring the product's success across all target markets.

Responsibilities:

Go-to-Market Strategy:

  • Lead and execute product launches, including market analysis, competitive positioning, and communications strategies.
  • Define the go-to-market strategy and roadmap to ensure alignment with business goals and timelines.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure smooth and impactful product releases.

Product Positioning and Messaging:

  • Develop compelling product positioning and messaging that clearly differentiates Sauce Labs products in the market.
  • Create product content, including pitch decks, value propositions, website copy, and other sales enablement materials.
  • Understand and articulate product benefits to target audiences, including customers, sales teams, and external stakeholders.

Market Research and Customer Insights:

  • Conduct market research to identify customer needs, market trends, and competitive insights.
  • Analyze product performance, customer feedback, and market data to refine product messaging and positioning.
  • Monitor the competitive landscape to inform future product improvements and innovations.

Sales Enablement:

  • Partner with sales teams to develop tools and resources that enable them to effectively sell the product, including training sessions, product demonstrations, and case studies.
  • Create and maintain competitive intelligence documentation to assist sales in positioning against competitors.

Collaboration with Product Teams:

  • Collaborate closely with product managers to understand product features, roadmap, and development timelines.
  • Advocate for customer needs and market trends in product development decisions.

Campaigns and Demand Generation:

  • Work with the broader marketing team to plan and execute product-focused marketing campaigns that drive demand and customer acquisition.
  • Leverage digital marketing channels such as social media, content marketing, email marketing, and paid media to promote product awareness and adoption.

Performance Tracking and Reporting:

  • Set KPIs and track the performance of product marketing initiatives.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on campaign performance, customer feedback, and market conditions.
  • Regularly report on product marketing activities and performance to senior leadership.

Required Skills:

  • 3-5 years of experience in product marketing, ideally within software testing, test automation, or DevOps.
  • Proven success in developing go-to-market strategies and launching products in a competitive market.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex technical features into compelling customer benefits.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Deep understanding of market research, customer segmentation, and competitive analysis.
  • Collaborative mindset, with the ability to work cross-functionally with product, sales, and marketing teams.
  • Data-driven approach to decision-making, with strong analytical skills and proficiency with marketing tools such as Google Analytics, HubSpot, or Salesforce.
