WHO YOU ARE:

We are seeking a Product Manager I to lead the design and delivery of workflow automation solutions supporting our Compliance organization, with a primary focus on life insurance and annuity operations. This role will partner closely with Compliance, Legal, Operations, and Engineering teams to modernize and streamline regulatory processes including DOI complaints, subpoenas, regulatory inquiries, and internal audit workflows.

In addition, this role will support the replacement of an internal funds allocation application that receives payments and orchestrates downstream system updates across Finance and administrative platforms. While exposure to financial systems is helpful, the core priority of this role is deep understanding of compliance-driven processes within life and annuity products.

This is a hands-on product role requiring strong process design, stakeholder leadership, and technical collaboration skills.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Own end-to-end product delivery for compliance workflow solutions, from discovery through production release.
  • Partner with Compliance and Legal teams to document, analyze, and redesign regulatory processes including:
    • DOI Compliants
    • Subpoenas and regulatory requests
    • Market conduct and audit-related workflows
    • Escalation and case management processes
  • Translate regulatory and operational requirements into scalable system workflows and automation capabilities.
  • Define and manage product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and release plans.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to design integrations with ERP and administrative systems.
  • Support modernization of an internal payment allocation platform that:
    • Receives incoming funds
    • Triggers downstream updates to Finance (e.g., PeopleSoft) and policy administration systems
    • Applies funds to contracts and individuals
    • Routes funds through appropriate accounts (e.g., suspense, operating)
  • Ensure auditability, traceability, and regulatory compliance within all solutions.
  • Monitor production performance, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Act as the primary product liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • A Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree with 5+ years’ work experience in Product Management or Business Analysis
  • Strong background in life insurance and/or annuity operations.
  • Direct exposure to compliance processes such as DOI complaints, regulatory inquiries, subpoenas, or audit workflows.
  • Experience designing or improving structured business workflows.
  • Ability to translate regulatory requirements into system functionality.
  • Experience writing detailed product requirements and working with engineering teams.
  • Strong stakeholder communication skills across business and technical audiences.
  • Experience working with ERP, case management, or workflow platforms.
  • Exposure to policy administration systems within life insurance or annuities.
  • Familiarity with regulatory reporting or compliance tracking systems.
  • Experience integrating systems via APIs or service-based architectures.
  • Understanding of financial system integrations (e.g., PeopleSoft or similar ERP platforms).
  • Experience working in Agile or iterative delivery environments.
