What you will do
Johnson Controls is hiring! This exciting opportunity is part of the BE, Airside Engineering Team. You will perform a full range of engineering work requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out engineering tasks related to product design, development, sustaining efforts and support. You will be responsible for all aspects and execution of air handling unit design and application.
How you will do it
Works under general supervision. Follows work instructions and defined processes.
Works collaboratively to determine best techniques/procedures/theories and applies them to analysis, design or research of mechanical equipment and components related to the HVAC industry.
Applies use of statistical analysis and other quality principles and tools. Possesses a mature understanding of advanced statistical analysis tools and problem solving.
Defines, plans & promotes own activity for a project. Drives for results in cross functional work with other departments.
Responsible for technical direction of designers and technicians on specific work assignments. Guide and mentor less experienced engineers
Analyzes product design requirements and recommends solutions. Promotes Design for Manufacturability philosophy and simplifies complex specifications into logical design requirements.
Able to complete detailed design for features or products.
Prepares, checks, and coordinates the release of documentation to support AHU component design and application.
Uses expertise to provide instruction and guidance to others.
Writes specifications for features or products.
Prepares and participates in design reviews. Supports technical activities. Provides assistance to others.
Reports status of own work and junior members work to project team.
Good written & verbal skills..

What we look for
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (ABET accredited) or related science or equivalent (see Engineering BS Equivalency diagram)
0-3 years experience in product development and product design
Interfacing with engineering and manufacturing
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).
US citizenship and/or permanent resident

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $75,000 - $90,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
