Procurement Specialist - Consumables & Equipment

Who You Are

The Procurement Specialist supports the Procurement team in the execution of sourcing, contracting, and supplier management activities across both the Consumables and Equipment businesses. The purpose of this role is to support Category Managers and internal stakeholders by ensuring procurement processes are followed, supplier relationships are maintained, and procurement programs operate efficiently to deliver value to our network of dental practices.

This role is primarily execution-focused and provides hands-on support across sourcing initiatives, contract administration, sponsorships, savings strategies, and reporting. The Procurement Specialist works closely with Category Managers, Finance, Accounts Payable, Events, and other internal teams to help drive process consistency, validate cost savings, mitigate risk, and promote the role of Procurement across dentalcorp.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategy Development & Process Improvement

    • Optimizing content on departmental tools and knowledge bases to support efficiencies and clarity

  • Supporting Category Managers to scope new projects, validate and audit savings

  • Expand and promote the role of Procurement throughout dentalcorp

  • Negotiation & Contract Management

    • Execute NDAs with suppliers and negotiate low-risk/value practice-level contracts

  • Supplier Relationship Management

    • Building relationships and fostering ongoing communication with key suppliers to ensure continuity of business

  • Monitoring quality and service levels of preferred programs, proactively working to maintain and improve procurement programs

  • Act as a first point of contact for procurement-related administrative and analytical requests, triaging, resolving where possible, and escalating as needed

  • Supplier Communications

  • Coordinate submissions for internal distribution by determining content, organizing inputs, and managing timelines

  • Sponsorship Support

  • Support management of invoicing, tracking, reconciliation, reporting, and follow-ups to ensure timely payment and accurate reporting

  • Management of Asset Tracking

  • Digital, Reporting & Analytics

    • Rebate tracking, savings analysis

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years of relevant work experience
  • Experience in the dental or health care industry is an asset
  • Ability to prioritize and react to issues with a sense of urgency
  • Can work autonomously
  • Analytical skills
  • Inquisitive, process-driven, resourceful, solution-driven, experience working with external vendors
  • Basic Word, Excel, PPT, able to learn new systems (Coupa, dc assist, sharepoint, workday, etc.) 
  • French is a strong asset
  • Commitment to providing a high level of customer service & continuous improvement
  • Demonstrated experience in supplier relationship management
  • Strong follow-up and attention to detail
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, evolving environment

Salary Range: The base annual salary range is $70,000-$75,000 (plus a bonus of up to 10% and competitive total rewards and benefits package). Salary is determined based on the candidate’s work experience and will be discussed during the interview process.
