Procurement Senior Manager – Contracting Center of Excellence (CoE)

About the Team


Our Procurement Contracting Center of Excellence (CoE) is a global capability team within Procurement Strategy & Delivery that supports Haleon’s ambition of delivering best‑in‑class contracting excellence, compliance, risk mitigation and value realization. The team develops and governs contracting standards, templates, playbooks, processes, technologies and insights that ensure consistent, high‑quality contracting outcomes across all categories and regions. By working as One Procurement — in partnership with Legal, Category Management, Risk, Finance, Data & Digital, and regional procurement teams — the Contracting CoE drives performance, reduces complexity, enhances stakeholder experience and strengthens business controls.

The Contracting CoE, along with the Procurement Strategy & Delivery Leadership Team, will instil a culture of continuous improvement and a Service Excellence mindset. This team will work globally ensuring consistency in the right contracting processes and ensure solutions meet the needs locally, where required.

Role Overview

The Procurement Contracting CoE Manager is responsible for managing day-to-day contracting operations and working along with a team of contracting specialists to deliver consistent, compliant, and efficient contracting outcomes across the organization. The role supports the Contracting CoE Lead by operationalising strategy, governance, and process excellence while partnering closely with Procurement, Legal, and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Contract Lifecycle Management

  • Execution of high-medium spend critical contracts in close collaboration with our Global category and business partnering procurement teams

  • Lead contract negotiations, advise on contractual risks, develop mitigation strategies, and administer contracts for the organization

  • Oversee end‑to‑end contracting activities including drafting, review, amendment, and execution of procurement contracts and NDAs

  • Ensure consistent application of approved templates, clause libraries, and playbooks

  • Support negotiations by advising on contractual risk, fallbacks, and governance requirements

Governance, Risk & Compliance

  • Ensure all contracts comply with legal, regulatory, and internal policy requirements

  • Apply governance frameworks, controls, and approval processes to mitigate contractual and operational risk

  • Support audit readiness and compliance assessments

Stakeholder Partnership

  • Build strong, trusted relationships with Procurement, Legal, and business stakeholders

  • Provide pragmatic, solution‑oriented contracting guidance to support business outcomes

  • Contribute to a customer‑focused service model that delivers timely, value‑driven support

Operational Excellence & Improvement

  • Identify process inefficiencies and lead continuous improvement initiatives

  • Support delivery of cost savings, value creation, and cycle‑time reduction

  • Apply Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies to resolve operational issues using root‑cause analysis

Team & Service Delivery

  • Ensure delivery against service levels and stakeholder expectations

  • Act as the first point of escalation for complex or high‑risk contracting issues

  • Collaborating with the wider CoE team fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement

Qualifications & Skills: 

  • Bachelors – Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering, related field or any Bachelors, combined with relevant experience.

  • 9 to 14 years of experience in procurement, contracting, or supply chain management with strong domain expertise in understanding of the end-to-end buying cycle

  • Demonstrated experience with high-value contracts and mid-to-large scale procurement projects

  • Proven experience managing or supervising contract or procurement teams

  • Strong understanding of the contract lifecycle, including drafting, review, negotiation, and execution

  • Strong hands-on experience on Contracting tools and technologies (Ariba, OnIT, etc).

  • Hands‑on experience with procurement systems such as SAP, Coupa, or Ivalua

  • Solid understanding of procurement governance, internal controls, audit requirements, and compliance

  • Demonstrated experience driving operational efficiencies and service improvements

  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem‑solving skills

  • Exposure to global and cross‑border contracting environments

  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent experience in continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Policy and procedure development for compliance and efficiency
