The Procurement Development Manager will lead a team of Procurement Development Leaders who will execute our  functional improvement initiatives to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the Procurement and Supply Chain function. You will lead the development and deployment of major transformation projects, systems and / or process development and deployment as part of our exciting Supply Chain Transformation journey.

What you will be doing

  • Lead the development, improvement and deployment of purchasing processes, policies, templates and tools for Procurement function ensuring that they are fully integrated into the company's operating system(s).
  • Lead the communication and execution of the strategy and policies relating to Procurement & the wider Supply Chain Function
  • Lead and co-ordinate operational reporting and data integrity as per the requirements of the business.
  • Lead the development and deployment of functional change management projects across the Procurement function including leading any procurement improvement projects
  • Lead and co-ordinate initiatives in support to the Procurement and Supply Chain Transformation programme..
  • Provide structure and governance to the team of Procurement Development Leaders in your team.  
  • Must be able to develop comprehensive workable solutions in complex situations to ensure the Function team shows up positively.
  • Nurture effective relationships with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external to the function in order to integrate functional priorities across the business

Basic and preferred qualifications

  • Proven track record in relevant roles and in team leadership.
  • Experience of working in complex organisations and in large, regulated manufacturing environments.
  • High level of procurement and commercial acumen, backed up by relevant professional qualifications and/or accreditations.
  • Delivery and stakeholder/ customer focus.
  • Being a role model for positive and engaging leadership.
  • Displays energy, drive and urgency in all aspects of their role.
  • A role model of the Rolls-Royce core values and behaviours

For more than 60 years Rolls-Royce Submarines has designed, supplied and supported the nuclear propulsion plant, providing power for all UK Royal Navy nuclear submarines.
