Your day at NTT DATA
The Procurement / Purchasing Analyst is a seasoned subject matter expert, responsible for analyzing market outlooks and determines when and what to buy when contracting with vendors, ordering supplies, or making a big investment in a product, or technology, etc.

This role participates in the development and implementation of short-term strategies to procure / purchase commodities across all categories.

Key responsibilities:
  • Serves as the liaison between the business and vendors.
  • Sources and screens vendors, negotiating contracts and presenting deals to decision makers.
  • Reviews and processes requisitions to ensure timely order submission and negotiates costs, delivery schedules and contract terms.
  • Analyzes documented comparative costs submitted by suppliers in the RFP process.
  • Agrees pricing and performance standards through contracts with suppliers.
  • Inspects and tests samples of products and services of vendors and documenting features and benefits of each product, using this information to make the final purchasing decision.
  • Responsible for documenting the costs for all assigned vendors, as well as generating monthly cost reports to present to stakeholders.
  • Recommends sourcing strategies to leadership and monitors, pursues and executes tactical and strategic initiatives as assigned.
  • Administers trends and market conditions and maintain efficient flow of information for all materials.
  • Prepares recommendations on the design of various cost savings programs and identifies new suppliers.
  • Monitors order fulfilment against purchase orders to ensure on-time deliveries.

  • Specialist at the cost-benefit analysis process.
  • Good negotiation skills with the ability to maintain effective working relationships with suppliers/vendors.
  • Solid knowledge of the relevant quality standards related to products and services.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under stress and operate in a high-pressure environment.
  • Good team skills, both as a leader and as a team player.
  • Good communication skills, especially related to facilitation, documentation and reporting.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Excel/Word/PowerPoint).

Academic qualifications and certifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM).

Required experience:
  • Seasoned experience working in the field and related procurement / purchasing operational experience.
  • Experience conducting cost-benefit analysis.
  • Seasoned experience in using procurement modules for managing purchase orders, supplier information, and contract management.
  • Seasoned experience in evaluating the vendors that work with a company based on the vendors price, quality, and availability.
