As a key member of the Procurement team, you will be responsible for the planning, development, and administration of procurement activities, including purchasing materials and services and managing the full lifecycle of Purchase Orders. This position provides tactical support to business partners, ensuring timely delivery, alignment to category and contract strategies, and continuous improvement of procurement processes. You will utilize your technical supply chain knowledge, communication skills, and stakeholder management abilities to support overall procurement excellence.

Minimum Requirements: 

  • This level is regarded as the fully qualified SCM professional at an intermediate specialist level. 

  • Able to advise business leaders and provide guidance to more junior Supply Chain Management (SCM) staff. 

  • Demonstrates skill in a variety of Supply Chain competencies related to Procurement, Contract Management and Supplier Analysis/Selection as well as Planning, Scheduling and Coordinating. 

  • Displays a combination of professional and technical knowledge related to Supply Chain Management (SCM) practices and processes, training, preparation and practical experience. 

  • Min 4+ yrs experience in procurement Post-secondary Business or Supply Chain background preferred.  Experience in Oil and Gas industry preferred. 

  • Intermediate written and verbal skills in French is an asset.

Key Accountabilities:   

  • Create, maintain and manage end to end lifecycle of purchase orders

  • Maintain procurement documentation, assesses risks, identifies trends and opportunities, and makes recommendations for improving procurement processes, policies and procedures. 

  • Meets the demands of multiple clients including external stakeholders. 

  • Demonstrate strong communication skills and effective interaction external partners and suppliers as well as internal stakeholders including site managers and senior leadership. 

  • Ensures all procurement activities are aligned with the purchasing strategy and procurement plan. 

  • Identifies approved suppliers to address requirements. 

  • Creates individual annual objectives, measures, and performance targets aligned with the overall Procurement Team and the SCM functions' performance targets. 

  • Displays a combination of professional and technical knowledge related to Supply Chain Management practices and processes; a combination of training/ preparation and practical experience. 

  • Manages scheduling expectations 

  • Explains / demonstrates application of SCM Planning and Scheduling concepts to more junior staff.

  • Defines priorities and ensures alignment with overall objectives. 

  • Ability to makes decisions within established procedural guidelines and contracts. 

  • Provides direction and skills transfer to others as required. 

Location and other key details:

  • You will be working out of our St John’s Suncor Center located at 130 Kelsey Drive, St. John's

  • Work schedule will be rational shift base - Shift position 7 days on 7 days off 12 hour days.

  • Our business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines, and the pay band will generally be based on years of experience and scope of work.
