In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for transactional procurement activities as part of the Regional Execution Procurement team. Your primary focus will be to ensure the timely delivery of materials to support Turnaround and Business Unit Projects within the Rural Municipality of Wood Buffalo. Your efforts will help mitigate risks while supporting safe, efficient project delivery and contributing to overall business success.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field
  • Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)
  • Two years of experience in procurement or supply chain management

Responsibilities:

  • Create, maintain and manage the entire lifecycle of purchase orders and other procurement documentation
  • Ensures all procurement activities are aligned with the purchasing strategy and procurement plan
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including planning, warehouse, and Central Transportation Management to support timely material delivery for turnaround events and business projects
  • Ability to analyze data, review requirements, and negotiate effective solutions
  • Assesses risks, identifies trends and opportunities, and makes recommendations for improving procurement processes, policies and procedures

Location and other Key details:

  • This is an office-based role. You will work out of our Base Plant Mine in Fort McMurray, Alberta
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
  • Some travel to sites may be required
  • Our business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of work
