GENERAL OVERVIEW:

This job is responsible for supporting the organization's procedural inventory locations through the utilization of technology and sound inventory management practices. It ensures high inventory service levels and integrity are maintained in support of clinical staff operations. The role analyzes and reconciles inventory valuations and needs in an ever changing, fast pace environment. 


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees the entry and maintenance of high cost inventory into AHN's perpetual inventory management system. Ensures appropriate business practices are adhered throughout the inventory life cycle. Provides feedback on current state processes to Materials Manager for enhancement opportunities. (30%)
  • Places orders for high dollar surgical supplies based upon reorder threshold report. Works with procurement and suppliers to obtain backorder ETAs. (15%)
  • Works closely with inventory analyst and department leadership to establish, refine and maintain appropriate inventory carrying levels. Conducts routine inventory utilization reviews with Materials Manager and Department leadership. (15%)
  • Conducts ad hoc and scheduled cycle counts on all perpetual inventory locations. Utilizes root cause analysis to address inventory variances and identify  process deficiencies. Escalates process deficiencies to supply chain leadership and department leadership as warranted. (10%)
  • Monitors obsolescence reports and acts to proactively return, transfer or exchange expiring or slow moving inventory. Documents transactions uniformly. (10%)
  • Accompanies representatives to conduct any physical inventory adjustments within procedural locations. Documents and updates the  perpetual inventory management system upon completion of any transactions. (10%)
  • Maintains designated storage locations ensuring items are labeled, storage locations are clean and the locations conform with regulatory guidelines. (10%)

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

  • Associate degree in Business or Finance or Supply Chain or relevant experience and/or education as determined by the company in lieu of degree.   
  • 5 years of Inventory Management or Procurement Experience.
  • Six Sigma (Yellow belt) - 1 year


Preferred

  • Bachelors degree in Business or Finance or Supply Chain
  • 5 years of Health Care Experience 
  • 2 years of Leadership Experience 
  • 5 years of Perpetual Inventory Management

SKILLS:

  • Ability to run reports out of inventory management systems, consolidate, interpret and present to leadership       
  • Microsoft Office Intermediate skill  (excel centric)
  • Inventory/Financial system utilization 
  • Excellent communication and problem resolution 
  • Data integrity, receiving and inventory processes 
  • Process improvement
