Akron General’s 52B Orthopaedic/Surgical Unit is a post-surgical unit that specializes in knee and hip replacement, shoulder, ankle, and spinal surgeries. Patients in this unit require immediate and frequent mobilization, which decreases their hospital length of stay and post-surgical complications. As a Nurse Technician in this unit, you will assist with direct patient care activities under the supervision of an RN.
A caregiver in this position works PRN (as needed) varying shifts. You must work a minimum of 64 hours in the summer.

Physical Requirements:
Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination; involves extensive standing and walking.
Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force rarely, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force occasionally to move objects.
Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
