Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Program Manager / Product Lifecycle (PLM) Program Manager to provide end-to-end ownership of complex, cross-functional programs across the product lifecycle—from concept and New Product Introduction (NPI) through release, sustaining, and end-of-life. This role drives execution excellence by building and managing integrated schedules, aligning dependencies across engineering and partner teams, enforcing PDLC governance, and ensuring delivery commitments are met on time and within budget.

The ideal candidate brings 6–10+ years of program/project management experience (including 5+ years in Agile environments), strong hands-on expertise with Jira (3+ years) and Smartsheet (2+ years), and a track record of leading executive-level communications, risk management, and milestone readiness reviews. Success requires exceptional stakeholder management, structured problem solving, and the ability to remove roadblocks and drive decisions across Product, Engineering, Manufacturing, and external partners to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Provides support and/or leads teams through the engineering development process and implementation of the company’s products. Projects are typically shorter-term, less complex, and more contained with a defined timeframe. Programs are typically longer-term, multi-functional, multi-project efforts with complex requirements and dependencies. Requires 6+ years of hands-on program/project management experience managing activities, resource capability, integrated schedules, budgets, and cross-company communications to facilitate product completion on schedule and within budget. Requires demonstrated experience (4+ years) driving program execution using formal governance, identifying risks/dependencies early, and improving process and program efficiencies in partnership with engineering leadership. Work may involve external parties such as standards bodies, partners, suppliers, and/or customers.

Management Level Definition:  
Contributions regularly and sustainably impact technical components of HPE products, solutions, or services. Applies advanced subject matter knowledge to solve complex business issues and is regarded as a subject matter expert. Typically requires 6+  years experience, including 5+ years working directly with engineering and program cross-functional teams, and 3+ years influencing delivery commitments and outcomes with senior stakeholders. Exercises significant independent judgment to determine best methods for achieving objectives. May provide team leadership and mentoring to others and may participate in cross-functional initiatives.

Responsibilities:  

  • Manages and leads a program involving multiple functions and project teams to drive the engineering development and implementation process for a product or service offering, typically requiring 5+ years experience coordinating cross-functional execution.  
  • Develops and directs the development of integrated schedules, critical deliverables, budget, resource allocation plans, and other support requirements for assigned programs; requires 4+ years of schedule ownership ensuring milestones and timelines are met.  
  • Manages activities of supporting project teams and internal development partners; ensures progress against established plans and uses analysis of business and execution data to alter or update schedules and resource allocations to meet product requirements and development schedules; requires 4+ years experience driving recovery plans for slipping milestones.  
  • Communicates program progress, escalations, and issue analysis to product stakeholders; collaborates with management and internal manufacturing and development partners to recommend and implement changes to products, processes, or business practices to resolve escalated issues, produce solutions, and ensure adherence to budgets and established roadmaps and schedules; requires 3+ years presenting status, risks, and trade-offs to senior management.  
  • Drives innovation and integration of new technologies and quality initiatives into projects and activities in the manufacturing and/or engineering organization; requires 3+ years contributing to measurable process improvements (e.g., improved predictability, reduced cycle time, improved on-time delivery).  
  • Leads and provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members; typically 2+ years of informal or formal mentoring/leadership responsibilities.  

Education and Experience Required:  

  • 6+ years overall experience in program/project management, engineering program management, or technical program management.  
  • 5+ years in an Agile environment (Scrum/Kanban/hybrid) supporting engineering delivery  
  • 5+ years of New Product Introduction (NPI) and/or product release execution ownership  
  • 5+ years’ experience coordinating cross-functional execution.  
  • 5+ years working directly with engineering and program cross-functional teams,
  • 3+ years influencing delivery commitments and outcomes with senior stakeholders
  • 4+ years driving program execution using formal governance, identifying risks/dependencies early, and improving process and program efficiencies in partnership with engineering leadership.
  • 4+ years of extensive experience using project and program planning tools and software packages to create, manage, and track project results (e.g., Jira and Smartsheet).  
  • 4+ years of schedule ownership ensuring milestones and timelines are met.  
  • 4+ years’ experience driving recovery plans for slipping milestones.  
  • 3+ years’ operating at senior stakeholder level.
  • 3+ years presenting status, risks, and trade-offs to senior management.  
  • 3+ years contributing to measurable process improvements (e.g., improved predictability, reduced cycle time, improved on-time delivery).  
  • 3+ years hands-on experience using Jira for program execution tracking and stakeholder reporting  
  • 2+ years hands-on experience using Smartsheet to build and maintain program schedules and reporting  
  • 2+ years of informal or formal mentoring/leadership responsibilities.  
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with 3+ years’ experience using execution metrics to drive corrective actions.  
  • Demonstrated business acumen with 4+ years successfully managing program scope, schedule, budget, and resources, including communicating with stakeholders and directing matrixed teams and resources.  
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business management, Engineering, Computer Sciences, or equivalent experience.  
  • PMP/PMI certification preferred.  

Knowledge and Skills:  

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.  
  • Ability to effectively communicate program plans, proposals, and results, and negotiate options at senior management levels; typically 3+ years operating at senior stakeholder level.
