Privacy Analyst

As a Privacy Analyst, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with privacy laws and regulations and safeguarding sensitive information within the organization.

You will assist with the assessment of privacy risks, develop and implement policies and procedures, and provide guidance on data privacy matters. You'll conduct privacy impact assessments, monitor data handling practices, and respond to data subject access requests.

What You’ll Do

As a Privacy Analyst, you will:

  • Develop and maintain privacy policies, procedures, and guidelines in accordance with regulatory requirements (e.g., GLBA, CCPA, HIPAA) and organizational standards. Ensure these policies are communicated effectively across the organization

  • Conduct privacy impact assessments (PIAs) and data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) to identify potential privacy risks and recommend measures to mitigate them. Assess existing and new systems, applications, and processes for compliance with privacy regulations

  • Lead and respond to data subject access requests (DSARs) in accordance with applicable laws and timelines.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally across Sentry to develop privacy focused training content and privacy programs to promote and ensure an understanding of privacy policies, procedures and best practices. Participate in the delivery of privacy training and programs as needed

Additionally, you will: 

  • Collaborate with project teams to assess the privacy implications of new initiatives, systems, or technologies. Provide guidance on embedding privacy by design principles into project plans and processes.

  • Assess the privacy practices of vendors and third parties, including reviewing contracts and conducting due diligence to manage privacy risks effectively

  • Partake in opportunities to expand privacy-related knowledge and pursue privacy certifications such as CIPP, CIPM, and/or CHPC

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned from time to time.

What it Takes

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum 2 years of related work experience

  • Experience in privacy, data protection or related field strongly preferred

  • Knowledge of privacy laws and regulations (e.g., GLBA, CCPA, HIPAA) and their application in organizational settings.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
