Job Summary

• This role is responsible for designing and delivering engineering solutions while leading project teams of mechanical hardware engineers and internal and outsourced development partners. The position focuses on developing reliable, cost‑effective, and high‑quality hardware solutions, collaborating closely with management and cross‑functional teams. The role applies strong subject‑matter expertise to drive the development of moderately complex products, contributes to process improvements, and proactively resolves technical challenges.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical and thermal hardware solutions, including electronics enclosures and production tooling, using established engineering principles and in alignment with development standards, practices, and guidelines.
• Develop and execute design parameters and test plans for new and existing products, including validation of tolerances, form/fit/function, shock and vibration, electromagnetic interference, safety, reliability, fan performance, system power measurements, and acoustics.
• Demonstrate a strong and practical understanding of core engineering concepts and principles within the assigned area of expertise.
• Collaborate effectively with management, internal stakeholders, and outsourced development partners to communicate design status, project progress, risks, and issue resolution.
• Manage relationships with outsourced partners and suppliers by setting clear expectations for deliverables, quality, schedules, and cost; ensure effective communication and collaboration across teams.
• Lead cross‑functional project teams of mechanical hardware engineers and internal and outsourced partners to deliver reliable, cost‑effective, and high‑quality solutions for moderately complex products.
• Drive process efficiencies and ensure products meet business and quality requirements through clear documentation and structured project management.
• Solve technical problems in well‑defined situations by analyzing alternatives using engineering judgment, experience, and established precedents.
• Represent the mechanical and thermal engineering function throughout all phases of larger and more complex development projects.
• Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentoring to less experienced engineers.

Education & Experience Recommended

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Typically 4–7 years of relevant professional experience in engineering design, hardware development, and solution implementation across the product development lifecycle, or an advanced degree with 3–5 years of related experience.
