Job Description:

Parsons is looking for a Principle Structural Engineer that will be able to work among a structure design team and take leadership in the delivery of different major design projects for all our important clients. Ready to take leadership and work in a structural team that will mainly design bridges and tunnels in addition to other structures for major projects. What You'll Be Doing:

  • Take leadership and work within a team of structural engineers to deliver large projects in compliance with each project requirement under the direct supervision of the Design Director and Structural Manager.

  • Lead the preparation of structural design drawings, specifications, and calculation submittals for a range of structural design projects in accordance with all relevant standards.

  • Ensure professional, timely, and courteous responses to all structural-related enquiries from Clients and Authorities.

  • Lead the preparation of technical correspondence, reports, and studies for structural-related works.

  • Be technically responsible for the engineering production of the structures team for assigned projects.

  • Coordinate with Geotechnical Specialists on issues related to soil-structure interaction.

  • Coordinate structural engineering activities with other disciplines within the Engineering Department.

  • Interface with Clients and approval Agencies/Authorities for bridge, tunnel, underpass, and other structural design works.

  • Coordinate with local authorities and stakeholders, including RTA, Dubai Municipality, DEWA, and other relevant agencies.

  • Provide technical advice to other engineering departments with respect to bridges, tunnels, and other structures.

  • Provide technical assistance during pre-bid conferences, proposal evaluations, and post-award or other contract conferences.

  • Act as a mentor for the structural project team.

  • Perform other duties as directed by the Design Director and Structural Manager.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and/or Structural Engineering with a minimum of fifteen (15) years of post-graduate professional experience in structural engineering design and construction, with a strong emphasis on precast and cast-in-place (CIP) concrete bridges and tunnels, including segmental and span-by-span bridges.

  • Demonstrated experience in delivering bridge, tunnel, underpass, and other transportation infrastructure projects within Dubai and the UAE is required.

  • Strong familiarity with Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) requirements, approval processes, design guidelines, and relevant local authority standards is essential.

  • Experience coordinating with local authorities and stakeholders, including RTA, Dubai Municipality, DEWA, and other relevant agencies, is preferred.

  • US registration as a Professional Engineer or equivalent is preferred.

  • Demonstrated project management experience delivering multiple projects that meet strict deadlines, budgets, and identified outcomes.

  • Experience in applying relevant local and international industry standards related to structural engineering design.

  • Must be fully conversant with AASHTO LRFD, American Concrete Institute (ACI), Steel Construction Manual of the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), and relevant RTA bridge and tunnel design requirements.

  • Demonstrated experience investigating, analyzing, and resolving complex design problems.

  • Ability to work independently on a diverse range of design projects.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively plan the use of resources to meet the requirements of the organization.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities simultaneously.

  • High-level English communication skills (written and oral), with demonstrated ability to prepare professional, accurate, concise, and timely reports, technical correspondence, and high-quality presentations.

  • Must be a dependable and self-motivated leader.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Experience in design and construction of steel bridges will be plus.

  • Advance degree such as a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering from a reputable recognized university is preferred.
