As a Clinical Senior Lecturer and Principal Specialty Supervisor in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, you will bring recognised clinical expertise, a strong research profile, and a passion for teaching to deliver outstanding outcomes across the MD Program.
In this pivotal leadership role within the Greater Brisbane Clinical School’s North Learning Community, you will drive excellence in clinical education, fostering innovation in teaching and learning across all four years of the program. You will work closely with hospital and community clinicians, the Mayne Academy, and the Academy for Medical Education to ensure an integrated, high-quality student experience.
You will be an established leader in your field, with a strong record of research funding, collaboration, and supervision of higher degree and clinical trainees to successful completion. Your contributions will extend beyond the University, with recognition at a state and national level through involvement in professional bodies, advisory groups, and the advancement of clinical practice and policy.

Key responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
Lead excellence in clinical teaching and assessment, providing specialty-specific leadership, role modelling, and high-quality learning experiences across all years of the MD program.
Drive continuous improvement in education, supporting colleagues, advising students, and enhancing curriculum design and assessment practices in collaboration with relevant academies.
Maintain an active research profile, contributing to high-quality clinical and/or education research, securing funding, and applying best-practice methodologies.
Demonstrate leadership, service, and citizenship, fostering an inclusive culture, supporting staff and student development, and contributing to governance and professional engagement.

This position is a fixed term appointment with the University, working in collaboration with Redcliffe & Caboolture Hospitals for the duration of the appointment.

About You
Applicants should possess a PhD or equivalent in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
Established record of teaching excellence and expertise at undergraduate, honours and postgraduate levels across a variety of settings, including small and large groups with course coordination responsibilities in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
National recognition for teaching impact in the discipline and/or National profile in education research in the discipline and/or National research profile with high-quality outputs in the discipline.
A record of successfully initiating and managing projects that improve curriculum, pedagogy, or assessment practices of others, with funded projects being particularly desirable and/or A record of contributing, sometimes leading, successful applications for significant research funds.
Evidence of the involvement in the supervision of honours and Research Higher Degree students (where appropriate) to successful completion in education research and/or discipline research.
Experience in educational leadership at the program, plan, or equivalent levels with evidence of effective impact on the teaching and/or assessment practices of peers.
Evidence of leadership in curriculum development at the program and/or course level in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
A record of meaningful internal service roles, including the successful mentoring of less experienced staff, in conjunction with evidence of leadership in external activities.
Well-developed communication, interpersonal and consultative skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in teaching and learning.
A profile of professional expertise that complements and/or supplements the expertise that currently exists within the School and the broader University.
