Job description:

As a Principal Software Engineer on the Analytics UI Team, you will be a strategic technical leader, driving the architecture, design, and delivery of next-generation user interfaces. You will shape the technical direction for critical projects, mentor engineers, and guide best practices that influence the broader engineering organization.

You’ll work in a dynamic environment where innovation and experimentation are part of our DNA—helping craft intuitive, performant, and resilient UI experiences that scale to millions of users.

Major Responsibilities:

• Lead and influence the design, development, and evolution of UI architecture and front-end systems across the Analytics platform.
• Define technical vision and set engineering standards for performance, scalability, maintainability, and accessibility.
• Drive execution of complex, strategic initiatives that span multiple teams and technical domains.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, and service teams to deliver high-impact solutions that align with business and customer needs.
• Mentor and coach engineers across multiple levels, fostering technical growth, collaboration, and innovation.
• Champion quality and reliability, ensuring robust unit, integration, and automated test coverage, as well as resilient operational practices.
• Advocate for modern best practices in UI engineering, continuous delivery, and system observability.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and contribute to long-term architectural strategies.
• Promote inclusion, transparency, and integrity in alignment with Genesys’ Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.

About You

You’re an expert technologist with a strategic mindset and a passion for mentorship and innovation. You’re as comfortable in architectural discussions as you are diving into complex code, and you thrive on collaboration, creativity, and delivering meaningful results.

Minimum Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional experience building and scaling web applications.
• Expertise in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Deep understanding of modern frameworks such as EmberJS, React, or similar.
• Proven ability to architect complex front-end systems with focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Strong understanding of application observability — logging, metrics, monitoring.
• Excellent communication, influence, and collaboration skills across teams and disciplines.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science or related field.
• Understanding of accessibility, security, localization, and compliance best practices.
• Experience mentoring senior engineers and leading technical communities.
