We are seeking an onsite Principal Program Quality Engineer (PQE) to serve within the Standard Missile Program. The PQE will support Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) contracts ensuring that program goals are accomplished while staying compliant with AS9100 requirements.  The successful candidate of Quality and Mission Assurance (QMA) Professionals will help safeguard the effective integration and implementation of RTX processes and procedures within the constraints of Raytheon Command Media.

The ideal candidate will have a dynamic mindset and the ability to influence peers and offer creative results to complex challenges that arise during the planning and implementation phases of development.  The candidate will collaborate closely with all cross-functional teams including systems, electrical, mechanical, operations, supply chain, and systems integration and test to guarantee that mission goals and contractual requirements have been met.

This position is an onsite role in Tucson, Arizona.

What You will Do:

  • Serve as a member of the Standard Missile Development Program team, ensuring successful program performance, deliver conforming products/services through effective collaboration and compliance to processes and procedures.
  • Oversee integration and implementation of cross-functional teams to ensure alignment to quality and customer requirements per the program quality plan.
  • Serve as a program quality liaison across customer organizations (Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) and United States Government (USG)), as well as relevant factories and engineering labs as first responder for quality issues and concerns related to development products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and partner with program leadership teams to define and implement quality improvement strategies.
  • Support supplier quality and supplier engineering efforts to help ensure compliance with the supplier quality plan.
  • Review and approve changes to the technical data package, assign actions when necessary and complete actions in a timely manner when assigned. This includes but is not limited to: Peer reviews, Engineering Review/Change Control Board (ERB/CCB) and/or Design reviews.
  • Ensure all development hardware (Engineering, Proof of Design and Proof of Manufacturing) are appropriately documented in the quality history records and align to quality and customer requirements per the program quality plan.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of eight (8) years of prior experience.
  • Working experience in supporting design and/or manufacturing process
  • Working experience with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
  • Working experience with SAP/PRISM or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) resources.
  • Working experience with technical data package review (TDP) and document repository.
  • Working experience leading teams in analysis of failures, root cause, corrective and preventative action.
  • Experience in a relevant technical discipline with understanding of engineering principles and design analysis techniques
  • Active and transferrable final U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain program access after start. US citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • Experience in APQP methods (including FMEA, Control Plan, FAI/AS9102, SPC) with demonstrated ability to mentor cross-functional team
  • Experience in interpreting and ensuring compliance to TDP requirements and QMS requirements
  • Experience with Configuration Control System such as Common Product Data Management (cPDM) and/or Common As-Built System (CABS).
  • Experience Reviewing Statement of Work (SOW), Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR), Knowledge of Purchase Order Quality Requirements (Q-Notes, STAMP).
  • Experience presenting, reviewing and/or approving changes through a formal Change Control Board (CCB).
  • Experience translating system requirements to ensure full compliance is flowed down through product, assembly and test documentation as well meeting contractual requirements.
  • Experience working in a dynamic environment that requires prioritization and flexibility to support competing requirements
  • Experience achieving results and improvement
  • Experience making decisions with limited information

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
