The Principal Engineer – VOIP Services role provides the overall ownership of the Voice System Solution Design / policies / strategy and security configurations required to deliver VOIP systems for users across globe as per GSK standards and policies.
The Principal Engineer – VOIP Services role will work with latest VOIP technology platforms like Cisco / Microsoft / others & their related applications. The Principal Engineer – VOIP Services role will provide senior level engineering expertise to deliver voice configurations and lead the design, build, and deployment of technology and strategy. They also guide the decommission of technology infrastructure where required.
The Principal Engineer – VOIP Services analyses and leads the resolution of the most complex technical issues while providing expert technical support and direction to multiple Voice design, build, security, and deployment teams.
The candidate in this Principal Engineer – VOIP Services role will be a subject matter expert and will be expected to use senior level expertise to provide guidance and recommendations to improve the voice environment and to deliver strategic solutions that modernize technologies for GSK.
Key Responsibilities
Accountable for the alignment of solutions and technical standards to business project requests
Provides consulting and high level & precise project cost estimates for Business as Usual (BAU) & mergers, acquisition and divestiture (MA&D) activities.
Oversee the provisioning of solutions in support of global collaborative service growth
Provide technical consultation as needed throughout a project.
Ensures implementations are standard, operationally scalable and align to service strategy & direction
Ensures project processes are standard, scalable, transparent, relevant, communicated and documented
Coordinate with Product Owner and Principal Engineer to develop capabilities and global innovation plans
Supports Product Owner in production & implementation of service improvements and cost management plans
Lead, design, build, the VOIP technology & related applications
Lead and supervise strategic partners and CW’s executing VOIP technology activities – Deploy, Decommission and Operate
Subject Matter Expert in VOIP technologies
Responsible for the technical quality of VOIP technology platforms & applications
Continuously improves the VOIP technology offering and end user experience
VOIP Technical Architecture on Cisco and Microsoft Teams
Own and Conduct Proof of Concepts
VOIP Integration Architecture
VOIP Product Design and Build
VOIP Production Readiness

Minimum Experience Required
12+ years of VOIP engineering experience.
6+ years running infrastructure operations
4+ years managing delivery of technical teams, support and suppliers.

Various models of Physical phones and Soft Phones
Proven Ability to manage, influence and negotiate with stakeholders
