Micron

Principal Engineer, HBM Verification Architecture

Richardson, TX Full time

Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all.

Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.

The Heterogeneous Integration Group (HIG) sits within the Technology and Products Group (TPG). We are developing High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) solutions for AI and ML applications! We stack multiple DRAM chips on a high-speed memory controller using TSV (Through Silicon Via) technology, dramatically increasing memory density and bandwidth. Our designs span custom digital and RTL2GDS flows, and we are targeting the lowest power per bit in the industry.

Join us as a Principal Verification Architect and serve as the technical authority on HBM verification strategy! You will own IP-level and SoC-level verification across multiple product generations and customer platforms. You will shape strategic technical decisions and provide guidance to senior leadership on architecture direction. You will apply your comprehensive understanding of testbench architecture, custom and SoC verification methodologies, and 2.5D & 3D package integration to tackle the industry's most sophisticated verification challenges.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the verification architecture strategy across IP-level and SoC-level for current and future HBM product generations, and counsel senior management on methodology direction and trade-offs
  • Champion multi-disciplinary verification initiatives spanning Design, Product Engineering, Business Units, and customer teams — establish verification standards and reference architectures adopted across the organization, and mentor Staff and Senior engineers
  • Architect next-generation verification solutions and GenAI applications, synthesizing look-ahead information from customers, architecture teams, and industry trends into an actionable methodology roadmap
  • Diagnose the most sophisticated pre-silicon and post-silicon issues, explore new verification architectures, and present recommendations to senior leadership to steer roadmap decisions

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • 10+ years of relevant verification engineering experience, including over 8 years in digital (Verilog), analog (FastSpice), or mixed-signal verification (co-sims or real number modeling)
  • Over 6 years working in custom design verification (schematic-based) or RTL design verification flows
  • Proven track record of defining verification strategies, leading multi-disciplinary initiatives, and providing mentorship and guidance to engineering teams and senior management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience, accompanied by more than 13 years in verification engineering roles
  • Multiple patents, trade secrets, or publications demonstrating sustained innovation in verification solutions
  • Over 6 years in memory products using JEDEC specifications (preferably HBM), with hands-on experience building verification flows from scratch and guiding them to organizational standards
