Principal Engineer - Hardware Safety (f/m/d)

Your role:

  • Be on top of the new automotive safety trends: products, process, tooling

  • Knowledge of the competitor safety technical solutions & strategies

  • Benchmark the competitor safety technical solutions

  • Influence the Aptiv safety architecture of the future

  • Anticipate the internal & external safety needs

  • On customer and leadership requests, act with urgency and be ready to answer any technical safety question

  • Contribute, on request, in the RFI, RFQ and projects execution

  • Engaged in safety escalation for problem resolution

  • Continuously contribute to enhance the Safety process based on lessons learned

  • Develop methods & tools for streamlining the product safety development, including AI assistance

  • Integrate functional safety lifecycle in DevOps/CI-CD framework

  • Promote HIL/PIL through the Safety angle

  • Participate in ISO committees (e.g. ISO/WG8 related to ISO 26262) for influencing and anticipating compliance

  • Participate in any relevant HW safety international organizations

  • Be a mentor in Predicted Reliability computation and for using Medini Analyze

  • Referent in: FMEDA, FTA, Predicted Reliability computation, Common cause failure analysis, Diagnostic Coverage principle, Commercial tool supporting HW safety analysis

  • Mentor and support the engineering team, including the safety teams, for executing the Hardware safety lifecycle

  • Create a strong relationship with the Principal System and Software Functional Safety Engineers and develop synergies between the SYS/HW/SW engineering domains

  • Create a strong network in the Aptiv Safety community, cross teams 

 

Your background:

  • Master’s degree in electronics

  • 10+ years of work experience in the complex Automotive system, e.g. ADAS, L2/L2+, etc.

  • 10+ years of experience in ISO 26262, SN 29500, IEC

  • Expert in automotive engineering, Product/Process/Tooling

  • Strong knowledge in ISO 26262 (FuSa), SN 29500

  • Strong knowledge in Medini Analyze and in Predicted Reliability computation

  • Good knowledge in ISO/PAS 8800 (Safety and AI)

  • Good knowledge of Automotive Regulations, Standards related to ADAS

  • Good Knowledge in ADAS/ADS/Cockpit systems and in SDV/SVA paradigm

  • Good knowledge in HIL/PIL (Hardware/Processor in the Loop)

  • Ability for communication to C-Level

  • Good knowledge in Artificial Intelligence

  • Demonstrated ability to take E2E lead on key issues and fixed them

  • Ability to listen and coach functional safety and engineering teams

  • Ability to interpret the various trends and currents in the global ecosystem that impact APTIV

  • Fluent in English (written and spoken) and ideally one more language
